Lol , spinning this whole thing from VW deliberately writing software to mislead the public and regulators about emmisions levels into anti EPA / big government position is laughable

Next up , blame Obama or that meddling Pope

Two wrongs don't make a right. VW is blatantly guilty here, but the EPA isn't a stalwart of protection either. They recently tried to downplay the release of 3 million gallons of toxic wastewater into a Colorado river by an EPA contractor screw up. Initially they claimed it was only a million gallons, water systems weren't affected, and the spill would "soon be a thing of the past" Sounds like state run Chinese reporting right there.

Lots of imperfect people demanding perfection it seems. Like Jesus is in charge of the EPA.

Gave up on perfection long ago. Excellence however is expected from citizen government.

Are you a government worker by chance?

Last time I heard that comment it was from a courthouse worker who was trying to defend his high paying job maintaining a court house website lol.

Agreed, way off topic. Plus, most have hardly an idea of what EPA even does beyond the sensational news stories, but gotta hate 'em 'cause gubment.

Shouldn't the EPA have caught on to this in a shorter time span since it started in 2008?

The allegations cover roughly 482,000 diesel passenger cars sold in the United States since 2008. Affected models include:

    . Jetta (Model Years 2009 -- 2015)

    . Beetle (Model Years 2009 -- 2015)

    . Audi A3 (Model Years 2009 -- 2015)

    . Golf (Model Years 2009 -- 2015)

    . Passat (Model Years 2014-2015)

Someone said above, 15,000 employees work for EPA right? This is less than the population of Crook County, OR, yet they cover solid waste, air, water, and land pollution in all 50 states of the US. Seems a little overstretched. But yeah, they should have caught this earlier with all that staff they have running around just looking to "get" folks on their lies/mistakes.

Gm makes cars that don't want to start.
Toyotas been replacing frames since the beginning of time.
    Hondas airbags kill people.
And everyone throws a hissy fit because vw engineered an ecu that can change setting depending on conditions.

Vw isn't the only auto maker that does this, they are just the only ones who are dealing with it publicly.
Vw will be fine. They will bounce back. The United states are the only ones making a big deal about it and all the hippies are butt hurt because they thought their diesels were green lol.

Imagine how they would feel if they knew the amount of individuals not using catalytic converters on their smog vehicles.
