Thank you...nothing at all wrong with an XLT/XTR. In fact, sometimes I wished I had gone that route. But, this was something I saved for, so I said screw it. Is yours Ruby Red? For some reason I thought you had Bronze Fire as well.

Ruby Red it is. Technically it's the wifes main form of conveyance so Blue or Red were the only options lol.

King Ranch is far more comfortable. Our choice was made on the pricing. I don't think we could of swung the F150 King Ranch without putting ourselves in a bad spot financially.

Appears ATRAC is only available on the Pro.

Sad thing is the Pro really doesn't have anything on the Raptor, other than price tag wise.

After all the talk on this forum (in other threads) about F-150 discounts I went and test drove one. After all, it has been the best selling vehicle in the US for the last XX number of years, they must be doing something right. It was cavernous inside, but I couldn't get past how big it felt. Power was fine (3.5 ecoboost, I think). Just not for me, ever. The wife drove over a curb as soon as she took the wheel of course.

    1. you're right. I wanted it. Kids love it. Maybe you don't have kids, or care what they like.
    2. Tacoma had ice built up on the rear window most of the winter, making it useless.
    3. I live in NY. It was -10 to -20F in the morning 2-3 weeks last winter, and below freezing for a solid month. I'll be glad to have it this year. My wife also has back problems, so I turn the passenger one on for her. Again, if you don't have a wife or don't care about her, that's your issue.
    4. This is more of a WTF. Why would Toyota put any controls (like lumbar) on 1 seat, but not the other? Your spouse or primary passenger riding shotgun doesn't deserve an equally comfortable ride as the driver?
    5. Do you have a shell or tonneau cover of some sort? Clearly not, or you'd realize the cab mounted light is blocked by those. Not to mention just having more light to see WTF you're doing at night.
    6. Puddle lights (or courtesy lights) are great when getting in or out at night. You can see before stepping out into mud or standing water, or a ditch. We have to park along the street where there's a ditch. My wife can see where to step when getting out so she doesn't fall. Maybe you just push your passengers out, and deal with hospital bills later. :notsure: Or you don't have kids to go pick up at night, and street lights don't light up enough to see where there bikes and shit are scattered so you can load up. I have a flashlight, but my hands are free since I don't have to hold it.
    7. I've never used it to be honest. I'm curious to see if it helps going down a couple steep roads around here in the winter. Several roads around here that get icy in the winter, aren't plowed the best, and end in a cliff.
    8. I have traction control too. The locker just lets lock it solid instead of relying on TC and the ABS system to fake it. My Tacoma had a locker. Used it quite a bit, even modded it to work in 2WD mode instead of 4-low only.

Some of those addons help my wife and kids. But then I care about my family, and clearly you don't care about yours. To each there own.

Does the F150 need a mod to run the locker in 2WD? Our work F250 does it in 2WD unmodded...

Wow very nice... is that leather the only choice for King Ranch. Before, I had seen them with different leather than what you have.

The way I understand it, the locker will work in 2WD.

That's what I thought. He said he needed to mod it to do that and I was like WTF.

4 LO only lockers is a Toyota thing, which is stupid because a 2WD locker is extremely useful.

Yeah, it's the only color. They've always only offered one interior choice for the King Ranch, but they change it each generation/few years. The color you're used to seeing is probably the more red tone from the previous generation. This new color is called "Mesa".

    What he said ^^.

That was one of the first things I tried, considering I had to hack the 4WD ECU on the Taco with a relay to make it work. I still don't understand that. Why the hell would Toyota force the 4x4 trucks to be in 4 low for the locker, while the Pre-runners get lockers and clearly have no 4 low option.

Okay, yeah sorry I read your comment to mean you had to mod your F150 to get the locker to work in 2WD and I was confused.

lol It's ok. Only mod on the F150 is to allow the mirror spot lights to come on anytime. Otherwise they turned off at 5mph and didn't come on unless the headlights were on. Kinda limiting.
