That's a good thing. Bad things happen to locked up diffs at high speeds.

This could be big if marketed properly.

Look up (if you're interested, that is) Torrie with Unleashed Tuning. His tunes are amazing. No more lag and nice firm (but not harsh) shifts. Will add around 70hp and close to 100tq using 91. He'll modify the tune as many times as you'd like for as long as you own the truck. Customer service is second to none.

I have a DCSB ... And now two car seats in the back for the kids.

I truly want a '16 Tacoma because I'm pretty devoted to them ... but do need more space so I have been thinking about a full size (RAM is in the lead currently)

I personally haven't made a purchase yet but if interior space is what you really need - I would go with the bigger truck.

Trips to the grocery store with my kids are embarrassing as I try to cram everything into available nooks/crannies.

Yeah, this is a big reason why we added an F150 to the family fleet. You can fit just about anything in the rear cabin of the F150. I'm having issues with my Ram 2500 and the 1500 isn't exactly known for it's stellar reliability. I might do a bit more research before putting one in your driveway, but that's just my humble opinion.

I had a 2010 DCLB that I sold in June 2015 (Sticker when I bought was 32, sold it for 27) and got a 2012 F-250 diesel supercrew since the Taco wasn't towing our camper very well. The 250 is a beast, in both good and bad ways. 400HP & 800ft/lbs of torque make towing a breeze, but the ride is super stiff and its big to drive around town and park.

My boss has a 2012 F-150 supercrew ecoboost lariat and it seems like the best of both worlds. The rear seat is spacious and actually comfortable for adults. It is a comfortable ride and easy to drive around town and still has enough oomph to tow/haul well.

    Thanks 007 - and also Sterdog ...
I really thought I'd end up putting 200k at least on my Tacoma - I truly love it as it's THE truck I wanted for years.

But my situation changed - two kids and it's a Prerunner that I bought three months before I found out I was being transferred up north so a 4WD is necessary.

So here I sit at a crossroad - I need the $$ for a trade in so I can't keep it and I'm trying to figure out which of the 'Merican trucks I'm going to get - I like all of them (still need to drive the F150).

Sterdog that reliability thing is one of my main concerns about the RAM - they are just so damn pretty on the inside you know? And it drives a lot better than the Silverado.

    Makes it tough ...

Yeah, there's a lot of choice in the full sized class.

I agree with you that the Tacoma is too small for kids when compared against a full sized truck. The rear facing car seat barely fits my Tacoma with my wife nearly kissing the dash. In her F150 the car seat fits with the front seat nearly fully reclined. We can also fit the stroller in the F150 with a bunch of groceries because of the fully flat rear cabin in the F150, which no other truck has. It's amazingly huge in the back of the F150 and I suggest you check one out. Good luck with whatever you end up buying.

I got lucky and the wife wanted a new truck, so my Tacoma was able to stick around and we picked up a F150 too.

:) We got the wife an Explorer when baby #2 showed up - I'll swing by the dealership to test drive one ... It's 700lbs lighter too, you know ;)

Yup. Hence why with a 5.0 L putting out the same power as the 5.7 L Tundra engine and only a little less than the 5.7 L Hemi it's actually the fastest truck off the line and handles like a dream. Actually, you have to remember too that most of that weight came off the top 3/4 of the truck, so it's center of gravity is lower too. It feels way more agile than the last F150.

I just came back from visiting friends in Michigan. We took a trip to The Henry Ford in Dearborn and took the tour of the Ford River Rouge plant where they build the new F150. Very impressive tour. They gave a video history of Ford and The Rouge as they refer to it. Then a video/virtual presentation of the development and construction on the new F150. You toured a portion of the assembly lines on a catwalk area above the assembly floor and saw the trucks in various stages of construction. It was really interesting and I was super impressed with the way they put the trucks together and the truck itself. I love my Tacoma for various reasons, but man I'm tempted.

I hear ya RZChief - Ford has come a long way and made a lot of the "right" decisions in how they run their business over the years - Just one of the reasons they put out such an impressive product in the F150. Does anyone know if there's a tour available in the San Antonio plant for the Tacoma?

I went out with some friends last night and my buddy had a jacked up RAM ... sigh ... I'm personally still on the fence because that truck is so beautiful (I know Sterdog, I know ... )

I have a couple buddies with the Ram, they are happy with them, think if you stay away from the EcoDiesel you'll be alright. One was a long time Toyota owner. He needed a fullsize, the Tundra just didn't do it for him.

Feel the Ram is best looking truck right now, funny because they started this whole huge grill thing, their current design seems the most subdued.
