My oldest dog had one like that too, until the young pup got a hold of it and shredded it unfortunately. Only stuffed animal the old boy never tore apart and no reason why. I called it his pacifier he would mouth it but not bite it and go to sleep holding it in his mouth. Worked great in close quarters keeping him out of trouble, like in the tent.

Had some trouble early on with Katie munching birds. Trainer asked if she had squeaky toys, yes. Does she perform "squeak-ectomies" ?, yes.

Thats what she's trying to do to the quail! Oh! So,lots of bones and rope toys, no more squeaky toys. No more bird munching. Oddly enough Augie

has no interest in toys, just eat, sleep, hunt, pet me!

    I am grateful every day!

Its 215 acres with 3 ponds. My back gate opens to it. Owner is 90 yrs old and was out repairing fence this AM when I took this picture. He gets a kick out of

    watching the dogs swim.

I'm afraid his kids will subdivide it when he's gone.

Beautiful. I'm blessed to be able to hunt on 1400 acres that my employer owns. It's a small group in the "club". I earned a spot by building his barns and now a cabin.

Although, I'm considering buying my own plot. Maybe a 5-10-20 acre piece of God's country. Mostly for my dog, which would become dogs if I had a place for them. My wife is 50/50 on country living so it may have to be a weekend place for now.

Spent the morning with our pup Chloe and the trainer. She's been in training for the month of September. Super smart and really spot on the commands.
Next Saturday we train and bring her home. I can't wait!!

I'm lucky with this guy....he's quiet & still as a church mouse and will actually, on his own, hide in the brush if I'm freelancing.

My previous shorthair, while an amazing retriever, would freakin' whine the whole time (wanting to work). Never lost a duck or goose with him though. Fortunately, the whining doesn't flare the waterfowl. Ahhh....that fine German Whine!
