I know that thing is sweet. I wonder how loud it is on deck. haha.

I checked out their site and read that there are some sections that you could rent out for a dinner or something. You could even rent it over night. That sounds like it would be fun for some boyscouts or something.

Yeah I was suprised when I saw it to. I think they are 16 inch guns or something like that. I want one for the back of the taco. People wouldn't cut me off, and if they did it would be their last time, mahahahah. I wonder how far the taco would move. It definatly can't be shot sideways because it would flip. I think it's like a 2000 pound shell or something crazy like that. It's like hurling an an old compact car at the enemey.

I've seen a pic of one of these ships firing and you can see from the water disturbance that it moved about 30' sideways.

I just read, it hurled shells up to 2700 pounds. The gun itself is 66 ft long and weighs about 270,000 lbs. I think I'm gonna need some stronger axles.

    On a side note
I was watching the news and heard about the USS NewYork. Part of its bow is made of scrap metal from the world trade center. I think that such a nice idea. The ships motto is "never forget".

I have to agree... served on her during Desert Storm and when the big guns fired it was awesome...they would have the drones (RPV's) out doing spotting and we watched it on the ships CCTV, you would see a target..trucks or something then see this huge black cloud like figure hit the target and nothing was left.

here is a pic from a bunch of us standing out on the foc'sle watching Tomahawk cruise missile's being launched..it was a great time!
