Trust me the v6 is MAP and the i4 is maf. I could not believe it at first but verified on the car.

    The better coast

Might as well buy a new one. Even if someone sold it to you for cheaper after shipping it will be in the ballpark of a new one.

MPG's have not changed for me with it installed, though it has felt more "lethargic"

This could be due to the hotter weather we have been having but it was felt as soon as i put it on.

So after 2 tanks i have taken the block off and will see how she feels for the next big, I am also watching long term fuel trims. I noticed with the block in LTFT's were kinda high (7-10), i dont remember seening them ever that high which would make sense that the ecu is going hmm, shes running a bit lean (due to less airflow seen at the maf) let me add a smidge more fuel.... completely negating closed loop gains (where we drive 99% of the time).

I cant speaker for WOT (open loop) gains, as if there were any they were minimal and not felt.

Keep in mind, i have an intake manifold spacer between my upper n lower manifold halves. So maybe that changes any gains made by the block.

Either way, back to stock to see what its like for a bit.

FYI, after taking the ecoblock off Long term Fuel trims have gone WAY DOWN.

Before like stated they were always between 7-10, averaging around 8.5

Now they are 0-3, averaging 2.3

Obviously the ECU sees the difference in air flow and accounts for it....

So long term fuel trim is a "long term (less than instantaneous)" overall adding or subtracting of fuel to the system.

So the way the eco block works is moves the MAF sensor so that the ECU sees less airflow which should lean out the fuel mixture because less air means less fuel.

While initially that might be the case, but over time (like one full heat cycle drive) the ecu realizes hey.... why am i seeing a slightly lean mixture at the o2 sensors in the exhaust.... hmm well ill trim up the fuel an add 7-10% more fuel to compensate for the fact the mass airflow sensor is seeing the 7-10% less airflow to get my actual o2 reading back to where i want them.

Essentially being a closed loop system that is constantly monitoring all the sensors and has a very small working window for fueling at any given rpm / load.... changing one thing it will compensate and get itself right back to "normal".

I cant say for 100% sure that the eco block does nothing but unfortunately numbers do not lie.... the truck adds an average of 6.5% more fuel at any given point with the eco block in, negating any "leaning out" effects that the eco block claims.... also my mpgs never changed but worse my truck felt lethargic.

    Just a few
So since it's adding 7-10% more fuel what are the MPGs doing?
