    contact marv... he can help you get the best bang for your buck. he installs and hears all kinds of systems - most recommending anything here have never really done anything like that... you may find something for half the price that is just as good as what you're considering.

    Just tryin to help man. I wasted tons of money doing 4 system iterations on my 4Runner because I couldn't bring myself to spend the necessary amount for what I wanted. Instead I kept spending smaller amounts and upgrading...ended up wasting about 1-2 grand on stuff I replaced within a year. When I got my taco, I did lots of research and saving, then did exactly what I wanted. It was about $2500 but I'm very happy with it. I absolutely love loud clean music though. The stock sound was driving me nuts. You should definitely talk to marv. Lots of people on here who are very happy with his work.

    I am curious how you got that whole setup bought and installed for $2500.00. If I could do it for that price, I would pay that in a heartbeat. I can't find anything near what you have installed for close to that price. Maybe with a head unit, but it has been difficult for me to find something reasonable.

    i did mine myself... even the deadening. of course, it can be a bit of a pia but i used to do some installations when younger...

    Sub: Alpine Type-R 12 Shallow
    Box: Home built ported box tuned @32hz
    Wires: RCA: Stinger 6pair, 12g copper wire to all speakers, 4g power/ground, 60amp monster circuit breaker.
    Others: Fully sound deadening (except roof) in entire truck. Rear wall was done 2 times. (Rammaudio FTW)

    All you SOBs are right! I just tried to get with Crutchfield to replace my rears with the appropriate Focal coax, but they already shipped. I am buying all the system this weekend and installing it when it comes in next week. Time to shop for amps, subs and a head unit!

    I guess I should add $300 to that, for my head unit, which I installed myself. The rest for $2500 took a couple of trips into a local audio shop. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to pull the trigger and they just kept lowering the price until I bit. Only thing I would change if I could do it over again would be my head unit, but it's fine. I wish I had more room for bigger subs!

    I have a 2015 access cab, and I replaced the door speakers with the Focal IS690TOY, a AudioControl LC2i to convert the speaker levels to main and bass line outputs. I installed the LC2i and a JL M200/2 under the passenger seat. I then installed a Kenwood KSC-SW11 150W compact powered subwoofer under the driver seat. Then I had to go back and install hush mats in the doors to clean up the vibrations. Overall its a great system, very loud and very, very clean. The stock speakers are an absolute joke. Cost for everything was about $800 (Crutchfield, Sonix and Amazon carry everything you will need). The Focal speakers are truly plug and play so there is no need for any adapters or speaker rings; and running the power and wires is pretty easy. If you want I can post some pictures or a video.

    That's your problem..crutchfields charges full retail on everything they sale. I'm currently running fosgate t3 components off a t600-4, stock head unit ,3sixty.3 processor t1500-1 and 3 sundowns 6.5 subs,6.5 fosgate power speakers in the rear off a pbr 300 ..everything except subs is Rockford fosgate ..never paid retail for any of it. Dynamated doors and rear wall..all for under 2500.

I want to retain the factory headunit to keep sticky fingers away. I am going to build a nice enclosure to house the subwoofer, amps, and LC6i in the rear passenger trunk area.

    Test fitting the setup for the back of the truck right now. Getting ready to wire it all up this weekend and do the sound deadening on the floors/headliner as well.

    This does not answer your question, more of an FYI...but you can keep all steering wheel controls with an aftermarket HU.

    One can never have too many light bars.
    I kept the factory unit with new speakers although I don't have a sub. It still sounds alot better but It would most likely sound even better with an aftermarket head unit.

    Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0’s in the rear, Total Chaos UCA’s, Al-lpro expo leafs, K&N cold air intake, TRD headers,Magnaflow catback exhaust,URD short throw shifter, switched out my 60/40 bench seat for some Tacoma Limited seats, Replaced the vinyl shift boot for a leather one, completely soundproofed the cab w/ Frost King. Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
    I work with a guy who used to compete in audio competitions, he told me to start researching "Focal" I believe they are the best out there. I bought 2 5&1/4" panel speakers w/ tweeters, two 5x7's for my ext cab , a 10" sub and powered by two Alpine amps. I soundproofed my entire truck with Frost King (waaay cheaper that Dynomat) I have an 03' and my road noise has pretty much disappeared. It's sounds like a brand new truck in my cab. If your going to buy a good quality component sound system do some research on Focal and DEFiNITELY consider soundproofing your cab !
