Just got off the phone with Servco. They said the new Tacoma won't be in till November and are taking $500 refundable deposits to reserve the one you want. If you decide not to buy, there will be 20 guys waiting to buy it (exact words from the dealer). Servco is such a racket because they have no direct competition out here, and their actual service is mediocre, at best. Anyone bought from them? I almost did but found you can get it much cheaper if you buy it slightly used. I've walked out that dealership several times frustrated after dealers wouldn't budge on their pricing and told me, like the salesman today, basically take a hike because someone else will buy it at their price. The mainland Toyota dealerships build packages are better as well. For some reason Toyota Hawaii does not want sunroofs on any their vehicles. If you have a 4Runner, Sienna, Sequoia, etc... with a sunroof, it more than likely came from a mainland dealer.

I disagree with this, I've had nothing but great experiences from Servco Toyota and have driven cars from the Servco franchises for over 20 years. The prices are actually comparable to the mainland vehicles as well, at least according to my research and the others who shared their pricing on the "how much did you pay" thread.

You actually are better off buying Tacomas new as they have incredible resale values. Have you looked at what these guys are asking for their trucks on Craigslist? Why do you think they can offer $299 a month leases with nothing down? Cause the resale is so ridiculous.

I completely agree with the resale value but the mainland packages are different. My experiences with some of their dealers and the actual service department haven't been the friendliest though. I don't know maybe cause I'm haole haha:drunk:

I don't follow as to the mainland packages. You mean you can't get the options you want locally?

yeah, my salesman, who is also a surf buddy, also said the same thing... Servco predetermines their "packages" so you have very limited options when it comes to building your own truck. I thought he mentioned something like they always come with the tow package. I can't find it right now, but I know I've seen their package listing online somewhere. I think mainland, you're free to order anything you want on your truck and nothing is preset.

Yeah I get that they option the vehicles out with packages that appeal to the largest demographic but if you're patient you can special order them as well. Just takes several months.

I can't get behind that color! Am I the only one who thinks of all the vehicles at Schofield being painted that color?

If it's the same cab shape I wonder if you could buy the 16 third brake lite and retrofit it to the 2nd gen? Then just wire it to a switch in the cab?
