I hope it holds up well, It has like a hard wax feel. They recommend bringing the truck in every 2 years for touch up.

I know it will be better than doing nothing like Toyota does: Oh yea, they do something.....recall frames for 11k+

That's why Toyota uses them. 2 for 1 deal on all frames.

Safe oil is not necessarily oil a human can eat. It is oil microorganism so can eat and convert to edible food material for human consumption. Fish eat natural substances that are toxic to to humans but are safe in the food chain regardless. Fertilizer that is safe and organic fed to both wild life and domestic animals don't contaminate us once changed by our direct food source. Hell.....shit is toxic to for humans but it is biodegradable. We did this before. You need to look up the difference between biodegrable which is safe for the environment and toxicity.

    Two thumbs up !
Any rust control measure that is worth it needs to be inspected and redone...that's why you need go in every two yeas. What makes me laugh till it hurts, is people saying cars all rust and there is little you can do a lot it. That is like saying, motors only last 25k and there is nothing you can do about it, so you proceed not to change your oil?

If you lived it the deep south, you would think nothing of applying more frequent wax jobs or do what you have to to keep the ravages of the sun from killing your paint job. If you live in the salt belt and / or near coastal salt, you do the same thing only inside and under your car and you apply and reapply wax on flat exposed areas and "lubricate " the body where water collects with oil to shut off the 02 supply and stave off rust . Where ever you can reach with waxes and oils.....your car part will last for decades, not just 6-9 years. It's call maintence and it's something we all have to do if we want our cars to last.

Car companies don't tell you this becasue they designs their ocars to last only as long as perforation mandates require. It's up to the owner to go beyond a wink and a nod and a prayer if ithey want the body to last.

Some people just don't take care of the underbody regularly. You have to take it to a self-service car wash, lean down and blast with highpressure, go from front to back, side to side, spend $8 and try to get everything cleaned of accumulated salt/sand/gravel.

After I had the 2012 for a year I crawled under it in the driveway with the garden hose and a spray nozzle and flushed out a huge amount of silt and gravel from the frame rails, even robinegg size rocks flowed out.

Flush from front to back so the debris comes out of the C-channel at the rear. Even after doing the self-service carwash thing periodically through the winter there was a LOT of crap flowed out. It was a wet and messy job but a good preventative measure I think.

Dana sold its structural products business in 2009, which included 10 manufacturing plants to Metalsa. Dana, is alive and well, just not in frame business any longer.

Doesn't change the fact that the tier 1 supplier does the coating. Your original post is correct in spirit.

Rust is inevitable only if you don't maintain it. Steel will not rust when not in the presence of O2.
