Diff drop for 1st gen is ok.

Diff drop for 2nd gen is a bad idea.

You're welcome, that's what we're here for. I'd like to say it's to help but it's to live vicariously through you as you spend your money. :D But really, you've stumbled on a site full of enthusiast who are happy to help.

Nice truck btw. I had a deposit on the exact truck in that colour but with a 6MT. Only reason I got the SR5 is because there is a $3K difference between the TRD Sport and SR5. Figured I would rather spend the 3K on a lift and cap rather then a scoop and painted bits. Not knocking the Sport, love the truck but I couldn't justify the cost difference. Now if the Sport had the mechanical goodies the OR has it would have been a different story. Before you say it, you can't get a TRD OR DCSB in Canada. The TRD OR only comes in AC here.

I'll PM you some links that I found handy.

Don't cheap out on your lift, trust everyone here when they say if you do you'll regret it. I didn't have my truck long enough, less then a week, before I lifted it and did the tires so I can't 'really' tell you if there is any ride difference. The only thing I noticed was that the coils in the front made quite a difference in how the truck handled, in a good way. I ran the stock tires for a couple of days after I put the lift on and once I put the bigger tires on the steering became a little more....vague but that was because of the taller side wall. Much the same feeling as if you drive a car with stock tires (vague) vs low profile tires (more responsive)...less tire role. A couple of days driving though and I got used to it.

Don't bother with the search feature on the forum, like all other forums it doesn't work very well.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Thank you and you're welcome. I'm no different then anyone else here really, just an enthusiast who wants to help a fellow member make the right choices for his ride. Like I said, you stumbled on a really great forum, it's the best I've ever been on in nine years.

If I haven't said it already, welcome to the forum. If I find anything that might be of interest to you I'll PM you the link.

Just traded my 2011 TRD sport for 2015. I had 3" toytech lift kit with adjustable UCAs. Has anything changed as far as set up or same set up is good? Been out of the forum for while so any info is appreciated. d5bcbd117d3fbb9caa4c4e7f6191ddbc_fad56165b6a83c49d25ee579877a788bb5fbf6ed.jpg

Out of curiosity why don't People recommend body lifts? You won't fuck up the suspension geometry and they aren't too expensive. Though they are more work.
