hey everyone, new to the Tacoma world, just put bigger rims and tires on, with three inch leveling kit. Traction control kicks on a lot more now than it did before. Almost a little dangerous on the pavement. For now I hold the traction control button for a few seconds and it seems to work, took it to a dealership today and they couldn't find anything wrong with the sensors or anything. Any advice would help, thanks guys.

Did you get an alignment done and get the VSC system recalibrated post lift ?

The lift was already on the truck when I bought it. With stock tires tried to get it recalibrated today. But they said there was nothing wrong with the sensors. So they didn't do anything other than test drive it to see what I was talking about. But couldn't get the traction control to turn on.

Print out the pdf and take it in , ask them to do the zero point or you can do it yourself as outlined in the pdf

So if they can't fix it, the only option I have is to turn it off by holding the traction control button for 5 seconds every time I start the truck?

I've been doing that for about 3 years

or install an ABS bypass switch but that kills the ABS and the VSC / Traction Control systems all together

What would happen if I just disconnect them all?

Ok. I get that, I meant would it mess with anything if I disconnect them? For instance would my truck not function right?

You wouldn't have ABS , VSC or ALSD , the ABS light will be on all the time but beyond that should run fine

the problem is bigger tires n rims.

The system sees a slower speed (due to bigger tires) for given yaw and steering input angles and reacts as it was programmed .

You might try recalibrating the speedo (via a speedo healer of some kind) and that should help.

Which would be better? Disconnect them all or just stick to pushing the button?

Haven't heard of anybody solving this problem by recalibrating the speedo but that would be interesting if it worked

There aren't wheel sensors in the new rims and tires. Mounted and balanced in a local mom and pop shop. Didn't put the sensors in the new wheels and tires.

So I took my truck to another shop, and I have a leak in my rear left axle seal...that is leaking into my brake drum. According to the tech. Could that be causing my traction control to come on more?
