I've been running 32 psi x4 for awhile now. Today I aired up to 36 and man I'm liking the way it feels. I can now totally feel the suspension absorbing the bumps rather than the tires. Slightly more noise on the bumps, but it doesn't feel any more exaggerated than before. It seems to coast waaaay better And I like the throttle feel. And much less resistance to turning to weel. I'll do the chalk test tomorrow to make sure I'll get even wear, but I'm really hoping I can keep them up in this range. Ha wishing I could go higher.

I'm guessing your truck is a bit heavier tho.

What is your reason for running that high? I'm just curious. You just like the ride better? I like absolutely everything about running the higher pressure than lower. Ride, response, everything. I can see airing down some in the winter.

Just wondering if there's a downside that I'm missing (other than tire wear/traction/ride characteristics).

I'm sure it's a few hundred pounds heavier with bumper/winch and skids. Not sure at what point the added weight becomes a factor though.

The michelins ride so plush that I don't see any real "harshening" of the ride. I do it for decreased rolling resistance/better gas mileage.
I haven't noticed any greater wear in the center of the tire so it works for me. I drop them to 12psi offroad. Only air back up to 30 until I get home to my real compressor.

    ~60k miles

You know, in looking more closely at mine (with about 40k miles on the tires), I can barely see any wear on the center line of the tires. It's almost like they're new. I'm amazed how much tread is left. And even though there's not a lot of wear on the edges, that is where most of the visible wear has occurred. I can tell by the thin little indicator threads that stick out. I still curious about the chalk test so I'm gonna do it, but I going to run this pressure for awhile regardless. Loving the feel of the decreased resistance. And the percentage of time the truck spends in lower rpm ranges is very noticeable just driving around town. It's seriously like a different truck. I'm truly amazed at the difference just 4 lbs has made. Thanks for you comments.

I just did the chalk rest at 36psi x4. Rears are riding just a little bit high. You can see that there is some chalk left on the outer edge. With just a little weight in the back they would very likely wear evenly. But since I am empty most of the time, I will drop them a pound because they will expand with heat from from drive time.

The fronts appear to be riding evenly all the way across. As the fronts will heat up more than the rears due to friction from turns and additional weight, I'm inclined to drop a pound as well. But I'm not sure the added pressure from heat will be enough to overcome the additional weight of the front end. So I'm going to leave them for now.

    Any thoughts?

I'm at 33 psi front/ 35 psi rear on my MS/2's. DCSB 4WD. Wearing flat and right at 30K. Rotated every 5K.

Are you running front lower because you like the way it feels? Or because you chalked it and that's what wears even? Or another reason?

The reason I ask... I'd be running rears lower than the front if i adjust to satisfy results of the chalk test.

Sorry, screwed up and typed it wrong. 35 psi fronts, 33 psi rears.

Can any of you guys comment on the driving/shifting feel of 265/75 vs 245/75 MS2's on an otherwise stock Tacoma?

I think I've read every review on all the websites for the A/T2 and thr MS2 tires. I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I do no serious off reading at all. But I really like the look of the AT instead of the MS2s. I will still end up getting the MS2s because I realize they are the tire for my needs. Thanks for all the reviews everyone. It's nice to see actual Tacoma reviews and not front wheel drive car reviews.

I am now on my fifth set of tires on the '11 Taco, original POS dunlops, used set of snows of the Ram, Cooper 265/75R16 AT3, new set of studded snows in 265/70R17, on TRD Sport Rims, and now the Michelin LTX MS2 in the 265/75R16 size. Let's see if the shoulders stand up to the mountain roads I live on and if they stay quiet and avoid cupping...

I do almost no offroad and I love my AT2's. They say the MS2 is better in the wet stuff but these AT2's are pretty awesome themselves. And they highway very well. I do 75 miles of highway each day and the AT2's are quiet and ride great.

I just think you are giving up a bit in performance and durability for the AT looks, but having run many types of AT tires, and rib tires over the years, like 30, if I can get by with a rib, highway tire, I will. I live off a gravel road in the Cherokee National Forest and go off-road every time I leave the house...

M/S 2's are way better in the snow.... especially since you're in NH, you'd notice the improvement.

Not mention the better treadwear and feel/noise

All of this is due to the siping of the m/s 2's that the at2's lack

I just read in another thread that you can't get a P-rated 265/75/16 MS2. Only LT. That's not really the case is it?
