Doesn't the Taco also have a remote start option? That fob doesn't appear to have unless you press two keys. Ugly fob. Where is the token chrome inlay? :)

    Remote starts from manufacturers suck.

Who cares what the key fob looks like? It will spend most of the time in your pocket.

Just like the fob for our 2015 Rav4 minus the rear hatch button.
This guy made me a copy of the laser cut key for $100 less than the dealer wanted.
Under $20 if I recall right.

Thanks! I don't know why their keys are so ugly and big.

Does the Tacoma have a sensor to know that the FOB is close by and the doors unlock?

There's a sensor in the drivers door handle that signals unlock when you go to pull the handle. You can also lock it this way.

Ok, just making sure. We are screwed if we lose it. I have to go make a copy. Maybe with that Facebook link up there.

I'm kind of surprised how cheap the fob looks.

Yea, i was kind of upset that the sensor is only on the driver side. Now, when I open the door for my wife, I have to physically click the unlock button twice. :boink: On my 13 Accord, there was one on both sides. If you touch the sensor on the passenger side, it would unlock both doors at the same time, pretty convenient. So this feature is lacking on the 16 tacoma, which sucks.
Oh and on my Tacoma, the sensor is not on the inside handle, its on the top left side of the handle.

The reason I ask. Is my Lexus came with a Credit Card Key. So you didn't have any keys. If I remember right as long as the FCC code was the same. You could program any FOB or Credit Card Key to work on any car.

I really have to say that the keyless system on the Tacoma is really lacking. Between only having the sensor on the driver side door and not having the tailgate connected to the keyless entry system, Toyota really made this system more annoying than useful. This alone is turning me off from wanting the higher trim levels. It would be a pain to have to carry around 2 keys. I just want to carry one. At this point I'm trying to decide between the SR and SR5.
