Home depot and lowes and most hardware stores do not carry that metric nut. Remember the nut and bolt place in chula off main st.

I need a computer guru. I'm running Windows 98 OS and need to run Windows 98 on my shop computer to power my CNC plasma table. I've tried running it off of Windows XP, but the table hardware requires 98 compatible driver. My windows 98 computer has crashed on me so I'm SOL on that one. Anybody know about computers that could either fix this old piece of shit or can help me figure out how to run a virtual machine on my Windows XP? I'm not even entirely sure that the virtual machine will work since this table requires an old 98 compatible driver.

    Lots...see build
You could try loading the 98 driver on the xp machine, right clicking on it and selecting "troubleshoot compatibility." I'm just assuming that that exists on the xp machines. That's how I ran a programming program designed for an older version of windows on my windows 7 computer. Although, now that I think about it, the driver might be more complicated than that...

By running a virtual machine on the computer meaning run xp or 7 primary. Then run win 98 as a virtual machine inside it. While you are on the virtual it will work as a 98 machine with having to configure the device for 98. The trick is finding someone with 98 and getting the drivers you need as it is win 98. I don't have a clue where to even get a copy of 98 to load.

I can probably dig around and find a copy of 98 but its the actual driver compatibility that's been the issue. I'm still doing a little digging around and seeing as I'm not the only one to use an older machine and need to use an older Windows OS.

Do you guys know anyone with a laser cutter or a water jet or something similar? I bought a PrInSu roof rack, but need to make the light bar cut out in the wind deflector 1" bigger. Basically needs 2 small cuts on each side. The deflector is powder coated 1/8" 5052 aluminum plate. If i start cutting it by hand, I will fuck it up... i guarantee it. So, I much rather pay someone who can do as little damage to the powder coating as possible.

What seems to have crashed? OS/hard drive? Motherboard? If it seems OS/hard drive related, send me a PM. Anything else I can't look at for weeks...

There's no way to cut that without damaging the powder coat. A laser will cook the edges and a water jet will peel it back like a banana. You're going to have an exposed edge anyway. the only way about it is to either cut it by hand and paint it where the new metal is exposed, or suck it up and get it re-powdercoated.

I have no idea what the real issue is. I'm not a computer guy so I really don't know what to be looking for. What happens is, during start-up it will only load until I get the windows 98 screen. Then it will try and reboot itself over and over again. If I get lucky, I'll shut it off for a couple hours turn it back on and it will be ok but other than that it's a crap shoot. The monitor won't come on for more than a few seconds quite often. I've switched it out for multiple monitors and it's always the same.

Issues with multiple monitors could be the power supply or motherboard can't remember if that old thing had a video card or not. Besides that though if it's not getting past the boot win98 screen it means the computer can't find boot files or they have been corrupted. Also an update could be corrupted to. If starting it a bunch of times and then loads some times something is definetely having a hard time in the post area. 98 is a OS I haven't played with in a long time but sure we could figure it out if I got some time maybe this weekend.

If you have not already you will want to file a claim against your umbi coverage on your auto policy. It covers bodily injury to you and your passengers in the event of a hit and run accident. Same goes for medical if you chose to add that coverage also to your auto policy.

Also, if you remember where the incident occurred, you may be able to subpoena or do a public records act request for any traffic cam footage to see if you can get the license. Then prosecute that joker and sue his pants off.
