Have a 05 dcsb, putting an arb bumper on and want to get a winch in there at the same time. What warn winch do you recommend

I had a HS9500 on my last Tacoma and an XD9000 on the current one. No complaints with either winch. The '95 had an ARB as does the current '05.

Be sure to check your measurements to make sure whatever you choose will fit; you'll need a non "i" series too- the "i" is for integrated solenoid control module which won't fit in the ARB.

Be sure to get at least an 8000lb minimum rating.

    Get a 10k winch.

I'm leaning towards the 9.5xps. Overkill?
Edit: just realize it's 1800 bucks... Change of plans. Lol

Are you dead set on steel cable? Stuff can add quite a bit of weight to your front end over synthetic.

I'll second the 8000lb minimum and will cast a vote for a M8000s (yes, that's that I am running in mine). :)

That is what I ran on my TJ with 33s. It pulled me through 75ft of 3' alpine snow when locked front and rear deflated MTs couldn't get me through. Good bang for the buck winch.

Not stuck on steel cable at all. Would prefer synthetic of course.
Also adding 886 coils this week. Truck is being built mindfully

8000 is the minimum that warn offers so...yes 8000 minimum. I'm looking at the 9000, has anyone used this winch? And how does it hold up?

It's an excellent winch but yes expensive.

Warn offers a full line, including the M6000, so 8000 is not the minimum. That said Warn is the only way to go and keep it 8000+.

My Jeep buddy has a VR8000.... and it regretfully has pulled me out more than it has pulled him out. My truck has ARB front, 4X innov. rear bumper, 33's, canopy and tools. He drags me up things no problem.

Although I would prefer a 9000 lb, if you can only afford an 8000 it'll do the trick, speaking from experience.

Then a VR9000 would be the winch you need.

You'll definitely need to upgrade the suspension with the ARB and a winch. Synthetic line is safer and saves a good bit of weight. Also budget for winch accessories such as a tree saver strap, leather gloves, snatch block, etc. If you don't know how to properly use a winch find someone to instruct you; they are great tools but can easily injure or kill if things go wrong.
