What kind of reception are you getting with the stubby antenna? I have on but use the long one because of how bad the reception is on the stubby.

How heavy is the front skid? 80 lb? Shouldn't cause a performance loss on its own, since it weighs less than an adult passenger.

Corrosion protection on these Toyota steelies is surprisingly good. No rust on them after five salty winters. :)

Thanks. From start to finish it took a bit more work and time than I anticipated, but I'm pretty happy with the finished product. Still have plenty on the list though... Sliders, front bumper, roof rack, it never ends.

In all honestly I haven't had any issues with it and I seem to get good reception and I actually do hear the radio daily. I know some people on here have had horrible experiences with reception, but I guess it really depends on where you live. Seems to be a hit or miss with these. They do look cool though

i installed the sway bar relocate..i also had the stubby antenna. i ran it for about a year and had to unscrew it once a week or it would get stuck/locked. crappy reception and switched back the the factory antenna.

I swapped to a 2' CB antenna and haven't looked back. I hardly ever listen to radio but when I do the reception is great.

    Detailed with some friends today.

Did a thorough wash, then my first claybar then waxed. Loving the results. Amazing to see the impurities and paint contamination on a brand new truck (rail rust, dust, etc). Highly suggested

Took off the front bumper and added a front hoop to my bumper build. Thing took forever to get level and notched correctly.

I picked up my (new) 2013 Tacoma TX Baja from my parents this afternoon. Then I cleaned out the garage some to make sure it would fit since it is slightly longer than the '03 4Runner it's replacing. I swapped the car seats over and while there is slightly less room for them it should still be plenty for years to come as long as we don't add a third one! Finally I added it to the insurance to get it ready to drive tomorrow. It is an adjustment coming from a 2WD v8 T4R but it's not that bad. A lot more piece of mind with something that has a few more safety features, and a lot less miles.
