Have yet to see any form of Pro on the road here in Nor Cal.....went to Colorado and saw two in one day on Schofield Pass! A Black Taco coming out of the trail as we left town, and an Inferno 4Runner parked near Marble, CO when we hit the other side. If I remember right it was on Monday of Labor Day weekend. First time in Colorado and had a great time! did a lot of passes (Mosquito, Hagerman, Schofield, and a few others). Had a fun time ending up at Cruiser Fest in Utah on the 11th. Got a private visit to Miller Motorsports new Land Cruiser Museum....4 hour visit for folks with a Cruiser Fest Ticket.....lots of cool rigs, most that you can't buy here! This would be my choice, 70 Series Land Cruiser, about the size of a 4 Runner with the 4.0 V-6 and a coil sprung solid axle in front like the old 80 series wagons....and a factory winch! And a double cab for the truck guys!

 

Finally a building worth breaking and entering!!

Damn...have to make it out to that museum sometime. I lived on Okinawa for several years, and seeing all of the Land Cruisers and HiLux trucks everywhere was definitely one of the highlights. I had a 1991 FJ80 when I was there...too bad I couldn't bring that one back with me. Loved that truck!

 

Was there anyway you could've?? Or was it too expensive to get it here? Either way, too bad. It looks like an awesome rig.

 

Stopped by the local Toy dealer today....no Tacoma's yet (they had one and it is gone) but they did have a 2016 4Runner TRD Pro (sold) in the new sand color...not sure on that color, no real changes other than available colors and tires are now Nitto Terra Grappler's. Looks like the TRD OR will be available in Inferno, but no Pro until at least 2017.

 

Thanks, it was pretty damn sweet. I looked into bringing it back, but there are many hurdles and expenses involved which made it impractical especially since these trucks are available here in the US already (albeit not RHD). Also, I had read that the vehicle needed to be at least 25 years old in order to pass emissions and safety in most States. When I left in 2014, the truck wasn't quite old enough yet.

Now, the 70 series Land Cruisers over there... I may have had to make an exception and spend the money.

Can anybody tell me the wheel and tire size for the Pro & Baja with the BFG ATs please?

 

BFG KO (originals, not KO2) 265/70R16 in D-load.

I'd highly recommend 265/70R17 KO2s in C-load instead.

 

Thanks! I thought they were a little bigger. I'm guessing it's the factory lift up front. I didn't see the options for load ratings on Tire Rack, I'll look them up.

 

Nope, same size, just a bit more aggressive than the OR rugged trails. The KOs are D load in that size whereas the KO2s are heavier in E-load.

 

To add to this, I ran the e load bfg for a few years. Very tough.

The only reason I would recommend staying away from c range is if you tow and our haul often. Or if you wheel a lot of rocky stuff. Otherwise they ride better and get better mpg.

I have range D now since they are stock, and so far no issues. I have, not on my Tacoma but on older toyota pickups had a good handful of c range BFG blow out on me.

So far never an issue with E range, and no issues with D range, although I think this is the first set I have run.

When these are done I will be going back to 255/75r16 as I like the size better. Most of those come in E or D

 

Well not many options for D rated in the KO2s mostly E rated.
