Grocery getter advice literally !!

I've had my taco for about 4 months and it's my first truck , Every time I go to the grocery store as soon I see my truck I remember That don't have a trunk and don't want to put the groceries in the bed because I don't want them going everywhere. So stuff them in the back seat with the kids. I need some advice on how to set my bed to have compartments of some kind . Help please!! Before my wife starts to hate the taco

 

Get a foldable bed cover like a bakflip. Problem solved.

 

That was one of choices I want to see if there's any cheaper ways for the mean while ... But thanks I will get one of those for sure in the near future...

I use my Yeti cooler... Not the cheapest but you could use just a tub in the back of the truck.

 

That's a good idea now I'm starting to picture some ways in my head

 

I always keep a ratcheting tie down hooked between the two cargo hooks closest to the cab. I just place the bags against the bed wall and loosen or tighten the strap to hold then against the bed. Has always worked well for me.

 

Ratchet bar...... Holding some Rubbermaid containers in place?

 

Dude buy a bed mat. Then purchase a black and yellow bin from Costco or Lowe's etc. run a cheap bike lock though it to keep it back there. Other than that look on craigslist and pick up a truck box, I got mine for 50 bucks.

I have the same problem. The bed mat helps but I was thinking a bed divider or bed extender will work too.

 

What exactly would a bedmat do in this situation? Secondly, can anyone tell me why bed extenders have that abnormal shape rather than being rectangular all the way around?
OP, I think a tri fold bed cover is a great investment. I have a soft vinyl one for my truck but we also have a top-of-the-line tri fold on the F150. It's a lot more solid feeling. That paired with a net or bar would solve your grocery problem. However I think the best idea would be to buy a bed extender as well that you can fold back into the bed, it will act as a cubby for small cargo.

Grocery bags hang by the handles on the adjustable tie-down cleats - put all 4 across the front, and a couple or three bags on each one.

 

Just load it in the front by your wife's feet instead. Problem solved

 

If money is an object, fashion some wood together. Make your own little grocery holder. No need to spend a 100 bucks. A couple cuts and some screws are cheap. May not be pretty, but who cares. All the suggestions so far involved a bunch of money. Don't hate the taco.

 

This is actually the setup in the F150 and is extremely cost effective.


Not ours, taken from Google. Those two slits are for a 2x6 to fit in between. We did the same exact thing pictured here, except we fancied ours up a little. Painted it white to match the truck and stuck a ford emblem on it, looks better than it sounds.

Here get one of these and run it through the bag handles then hook on each cargo hook in the bed. Done.

 

Damn, thats too high tech.
