OH SHEET could this be the solution to the problem everyone is throwing up over?
simple at painting Matte on the Fugly grill?

    Thoughts? emotional outbursts? different methods?

I'm sure everyone has seen this wheel dipping paint process, could work for the grill?

    Everyone's problem?

    I like the grill :notsure:

That just looks like an expensive alternative to plastidip tbh.

I agree, the stock Grill aint bad, however the Black Matte is pretty convincing

Personally I like chrome. Not sure why anyone would want to paint a grill flat black. Makes it look like a stripped down work truck. But hey to each his own...if you like it that's all that matters.

That truck looks so badass! Wayyyy better with the black grill. Now just needs BHLM. Still not a fan of the bottom lip that stick out under the grill....but that truck is freakin sick.

Love my smoked chrome grill. Not a fan of blacked out trim. Pain in the butt to keep clean and the Matt absorbs dirt.

I think everyone judged ahead of time based on some pictures that were released. But once people started seeing these trucks in person, all of a sudden the grill didn't look so bad and the designers knew what they were doing all along.

I think the grill looks to monolithic all one color. I would like to see it subdued or made thinner, lower half color matched and upper smoked. Dunno. Like seeing people experimenting.
    Carry on.

    Not going to disagree.
I drove 99 1st gen for 15 years, best vehicle I have ever owned (son drives it now). When the second generation came out I was not a fan, thought is was to big and ugly. Quality went down hill in my opinion. I now like it, size and usefulness, not so much quality.
Grill aside, I would still consider a gen 3.... Along with F150 access cab (awesome truck)
I will look harder at the competition next go.

Agreed. I would like to see a few with just the chrome surround and Toyota logo blacked out or color-matched

Seems to me the "problem" with the grill disappears when people actually see them in the wild........

It's not the color that I don't like, it's the grill. I'm sure there will be some aftermarket options soon enough though.

The solution to the bad looking grill is buy the truck.
