Yeah, I am kind of in the same boat I drive about 100 round trip everyday.....

 

yeah, I tried goin slow, but really needed new tires... any way to solve dumbasses turning in front of you short in the rain?

 

its nice on a sunny or dry overcast day

 

I have also heard the 4 Runners are a hydroplaning nightmare...

From what I have heard yes. When you push so much water ahead of the tire and then the get on top of that water it's hang on...

 

Toyota makes good vehicles... y they so poor in the rain?

 

I think any Manufacturer car or truck is poor when going to fast in the rain will open you up to the oh shit factor at some point...

well now I got new tires and will have credit as soon as I get the bill... im paying it all off.

 

I also have a 2013 VW Touareg and I will get off the road when it rains it weighs 4700 pounds and sucks in the rain.....

 

Keeping good rubber on the ground is key to avoiding mishaps in the rain....

 

my buddys mom had a VW suv, and she hated it because it didn't like the rain, and the radiator kept messing up...

 

I absolutely love the thing handles well gets respectable gas mileage and is great on road trip poor mans Porsche Cayenne....

On a recent trip to St Louis from Northern Va 24.8 MPG with a 280 3.6L engine @ about 80 all the way....

 

I get 19 mpg at 80mph on the wide open interstate..... but as soon as I hit city, I average 17mph all the time...

 

This has gotten silly. Tacos and 4runners are just fine in the rain. Any vehicle can be a problem in adverse conditions with crappy tires or a bad or inexperienced driver.

 

As far as speed goes, 30 or 35 could be too fast for conditions, keep and maintain extra room for all objects, and keep on the lookout for other things like a hawk...today is a perfect example, there were spots on the road where I slowed down to 10 MPH during a monsoon deluge, with good tires, plenty of tread, and even at that speed felt a tad fast....caution rules in wet weather, my arse hole puckers when I get in these situations, when I was younger though, I admit to stupidity, lucky to have survived....age usually equals wisdom....just sayin'..

 

well ive already read all this crap earlier in the thread. 5 under speed limit with bad tires was a no go.... now im just waiting for the body shops second attempt to fix my truck.

 

Im glad im not the only one thinking that.. only thing that keeps you on the road is the tires, regardless of vehicle
