It's not how high physical PMs go, they are what they are....
It's how low will the dollar go...
Physical PMs will go up for a few reasons:
    1. Releasing the price suppression....
    2. Supply and demand
    3. Inflation
    4. Dollar devaluation
    5. Digital fraud

I don't think it will get this bad because China and Russia are stepping in now, but a 20% to 80% reevaluation is very real......

Not worth a Continental – Fiat Currency Failures
The saying: “Not worth a Continental” has its roots at the start of this great nation.

Wars are rarely funded out of the existing treasury, nor are they financed from excessive taxes. The massive amounts needed would curb the enthusiasm of even the most ardent supporters.

The Revolutionary War was no different. At the beginning of the war in 1775 the total money supply was around $12 million. Over the next several years the Continental Congress issued a total of $425 million more in fiat money.

That is an increase of the money supply of over 3500%. The states also increased their money supply by 5000%.

In 1775 paper Continentals were traded for $1 in gold; however by 1779 they were worth less than a penny. For example, shoes sold for $5,000 a pair. A suit cost a million continental dollars!

Arguably this is one of the rare times that debasing a currency was the right thing to do. The birth of an powerful and prosperous nation was the result.

Almost all of the other Fiat Currency Failures have had disastrous financial results for the populous afterwards—many times leading to a loss of liberty, and to eventual tyranny.

Really? Now "THEY" are trying to give us a warning? So "they" is Carl Icahn? He's basically a corporate raider aka bully. You realize he isn't an impartial analyst? You realize he talks his own book? You understand he's an activist investor? So with all this said I'd say everyone should take his advice with a grain of salt and understand he has his own agenda.

And it's laughable to think he's following you. I'm pretty sure if he read this thread he'd have a laughing fit as well as applaud me for my Apple call over your silver investment as he too is a large shareholder in Apple and doesn't talk up silver or gold. Thanks for this mornings entertainment!

If you really wanted an education in finance you'd follow the likes of economist David Rosenberg, he's been successful investing is as much about what you own as what you sell – and when. After about 30 years reading the economic tea leaves for companies such as Bank of Nova Scotia, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Merrill Lynch and now Gluskin Sheff + Associates, Mr. Rosenberg has developed a knack for when to hold, and when to fold. He avoided the turn-of-the-century dot-com crash and was one of the first economists to warn of the U.S. housing-market collapse and subsequent 2008-09 recession.

Unlike that Looney Toon Rickards, Rosenberg has ACTUALLY worked in finance as well as had documented predictions that have been proven true.

Okay so lets compare currency in 1775 with healthcare in 1775, I guess we might also see a return of a global pandemic, but then again maybe not right?

The New World of the western hemisphere was devastated by the 1775–1782 North American smallpox epidemic. Columbus' first voyage to America can be attributed for bringing this virus to America and led to its spread across most of the continent of North America.

The epidemic occurred during the years of the American Revolutionary War (1775–1782). At the time limited medicinal options existed to help stop the transmission, and therefore the fatalities from the smallpox epidemic were as common as those from the battles of the Revolutionary War. The article, “A Deadly Scourge: Smallpox During the Revolutionary War” states “During the Revolutionary War, one of the greatest threats to the Army came not from enemy bullets, but from [the smallpox] disease” (armyheritage.org).

It is not known where the outbreak began, but the epidemic was not limited to the colonies on the Eastern seaboard, nor to the areas ravaged by hostilities. The outbreak spread throughout the North American continent. In 1775 it was already raging through British-occupied Boston and among the Continental Army's invasion of Canada. During Washington's siege of Boston the disease broke out among both Continental and British camps. Many escaped slaves who had fled to the British lines in the South likewise contracted smallpox and died. In the South, it reached Texas, and from 1778–1779, New Orleans was especially hard hit due to its densely populated urban area. By 1779 the disease had spread to Mexico and would cause the deaths of tens of thousands. At its end the epidemic had crossed the Great Plains, reaching as far west as the pacific coast, as far north as Alaska and as far south as Mexico, infecting virtually every part of the continent.

Don't be sad because you're losing money bud. Take your mind off of it by searching for the end of fiat currencies.

Haha maybe a few of your cute little nobody cares but tin folk hat nuts numismatic coins are. Let's see you convert that to a profit. I can close a position and lock in a gain with a keystroke. Again, don't be jealous, it's unbecoming.

I can copy charts on the computer too. Proof is in the pudding. I could tell you I have over $50k in Apple but maybe only have $500, what does it matter?

The point is this is a PM thread and not a numismatic collecting thread so stay on point. Stop trolling us with your lame coins.

You are completely missing the point, but I will say it ONE MORE TIME, SLOOOOWLY!

We are not buying physical bullion to make a gain this year. As you know, PMs are very volatile, and are not a good short term investment. The point of buying bullion is insurance/hedge if we experience a diminished value of the dollar.
