How fast could you drive if you had to remove the rear driveshaft and put it in 4wd. Highway speeds?? Could you pull a trailer with just "front wheel dr. "??

Trucks governed at 110 mph, suppose you could attain that speed given enough road to work with...

Towing at that speed might be dangerous.

So this is a planned act? Take out your rear driveshaft and tow a trailer at 70 mph?

There is no 4wd specific speed governor, and no reason why driving an open front diff would be different than any other FWD vehicle. So yes it is possible.

This is pretty insane. It would probably do fine at highway speeds without a load.

It would not be a good idea to tow in FWD mode. The adding a trailer complicates the steering dynamics which the engineers have designed to accommodate. When you add tractive forces to the steering wheels it can become unsafe. If you have to do it, go slow and with as little weight as possible.

Towing at 70 mph in regular rear wheel drive is about as fast as I would go, milage and wear are now the big factor. Pulling a trailer at all in just front wheel drive with no rear drive shaft is asking way to much of the front drive line, CV's u j-oints and axles are there for traction, not power.

No, 110mph is not the max governed speed of these trucks. Not saying I have any first hand knowledge, but I'm not denying it either...

No, I own some property in west Tx. It's pretty ruff country. If I had a break down out there just wanting to know my options.

I do, no matter what, no more than 110 mph, any gear, any time. Glad you knew nothing, yet disagree.

I do have experience. It is the maximum governed speed.

On a non-public road, you can peg these trucks to the end of the speedo. At least I did. And it was terrifying...

Well then, looks like we'll be racing very soon. And I will pull away when you get stuck at 110... Seriously though, my truck doesn't stop at 110, is just doesn't.
