I think you are still missing the point, 5 miles an hour under the posted speed limit could still be 15 or 20 MPH too fast, or more.....even with good tires, hydroplaning is going to happen depending on your speed, depth of water....it is mute now, your focus should now be on getting the shoddy work done right.

lol and the shop wont admit they did a bad job.... scratched paint, bad headlights, headlights don't line up right, bumper don't line up, quart panel is folded, hood is on wrong, fenders aren't secured, and I am curious if water leaks into yalls hood and onto your headlights on the inside?.... but he SWEARS it was Toyota specs...

Contact insurance company, go to different shop, you are dealing with pissed off people now, it will never be right unless you start bitching to your insurance company...the insurance company will again send an adjuster to inspect the crappy work and make a determination....it is the only way, they are not going to take your word, you need a third party opinion (another adjuster)...

Frankly, I would be climbing all over your agents ass, which means bypass the phone calls and emails, nail him at his office, in person with your truck so he can see the shitty work for himself..

    Yup, and the driver....

Wondering, OP seems to be in a rut...go down to office, raise a stink......this is the endless dilemma...his agent being on vacay could be the reason for email answer problems...go down to office, raise a stink, get problem fixed pronto....

I thought there was a whole bunch of other problems too...like hood not lining up, bumper crooked, gaps not even, side panel messed up, and all you are worried about is the headlights?

Here is my thoughts on the shop fixing all the alignment problems you noticed...first and foremost, they delivered the truck back to you in that condition, what makes you think they are really going to fix all the problems....there are underlying problems, for example, the brackets that hold the bumper in place (especially the outer ones) are critical to proper bumper alignment...any of the other misalignments are probably caused by poor internal support restoration to begin with....frankly, if a shop returned my vehicle with all the supposed defects like you describe, I would be bitching to the insurance company and looking for another shop, it is obvious they don't take pride in their work...

I would think insurance would cover it. Its an acident. I just had same thing today. Not in a ditch but the roads were wet and had small pddles and when i hit the puddles i had no control. Felt like i slid right across the top of puddles. Could it be the off road tires? I dont like em in snow either i feel they pack up with snow and you get zero traction.

This statement alone pretty much sums it up...Find a different shop, they will never get it right, all your problem are internal with supports, whether bumper supports, radiator supports, internal fender supports, things of that nature...for them to fix it properly means taking a lot of stuff apart again, they do not want to do this. You are being scammed....

You need to go to your insurance office and bitch. They want it fixed right too as it is there policy payout money that is funding the repair....

To a normal person, they would never notice. How do I get them to notice what is easy to spot if you know what your looking at? How do I make sure they understand that it's not right?

How many times do you have to be told, go to your insurers office, point out the defects, if possible, use the camera on your phone to take pictures of other Tacomas so you have something to compare it too, visit a local Toyota dealer for pics, you may be able to have someone from their body shop at least look at it....complain all you want, but it will take action on your part to get what you want.....I am out of here, this is leading nowhere fast...

Toyota lots are open evenings after work, usually sales is open until 8 or 9PM, and, if I am not mistaken, most insurance offices will make a representative available after hours (IE: after you get off work) if you make an appointment before hand....you are not thinking out of the box....

Well I need to get all the info but I live with a dipshit who won't give it to me. Would Toyota do a free inspection on repairs? A form from them would be best to give to the agent?
