that's pretty much what I did. Lot cheaper and I just see what I want to see

did you catch the eclipse? I had a great view but I don't know if my pics turned out. Had to use my tent ladder to brace the camera since my tripod is broken :laugh:

My eyes were jacking with me last night, and I was in the process of going to bed when I noticed a break in the clouds. Best I could get before I gave up. Couldn't get it focused....

I appear to have missed this post... Damn Tapatalk...

Going fairly good. Glad to be off work... Another 10 hours of online safety courses today and it's mind numbing... I think I finished them all though... Now I just have a bunch of required reading material:bananadead:

Not only do I not know how to work yet, but I don't have my security clearance yet so I can't really see any of the stuff they are working on.

At least today I had some in person classes to mix things up a bit.

 Hope their clearance people work quicker than ours ... I'm sure you're familiar with that.

considering some of the things they deal with there I'm not surprised....

Pretty much the same process... lucky for me it should go smoothly because I currently have a DOD-secret and I am trying to get the DOE-secret clearance.

The DOD updates the SF-86 every 10 years and the DOE does it every 5. My last one is almost 10 years old so I had to do a new one. Had mine been within 5 years they would have just signed a paper and I would have been done.
Yep. They don't really do a whole lot of secret stuff. They just don't want terrorists melting down all the nuclear plants out there and such so everything is locked down on a need to know basis.

    Makes sense.

When I retired from AD, my top secret had been renewed 2 yrs prior (5yr cycle); the Civilian Personnel people here on base still had me complete the secret paperwork to submit for the secret my current job requires. I found it amusing because I'm quite certain once it hit the actual clearance people and they pulled me up, they didn't have to do much checking. My clearance came back relatively quickly.

Thanks! And that's a pretty common name! But nope.

Is that Ali's dad by chance?

Better shot. Little fuzzy but not bad considering I didn't have a tripod @Round II

thanks. i had the perfect view - out in the hills, just one little cloud at the beginning - but without a tripod i didn't have high hopes. new one should be here on thursday....balancing the camera on the RTT ladder worked OK I guess
