I would definitely swap the TRD beadlocks onto the new truck. The stock wheels look great and if it were anything but the beadlocks I'd say leave them, but the beadlocks really look great on the 2nd and 3rd gens.

 

So I'm struggeling with the looks of the black over fender. I Think the limited black grill would look better with the black fenders and with blue ones like on limited. I'm getting the OR BBP and am going to see if that's something I can change. Or I may drive the 50 miles to the factory and ask them. Wouldn't it be cool to see them actually build my truck?

 

Personally not a 'bead-lock-look' fan. Really like my factory wheels. But if you like the bead-lock-look than go for it. My Jeep had all black wheels, so the chrome on my taco is different.

Agree I think the Limited grill would look SWEET on the OR. Oh and BTW, I am jealous that you can drive over to the factory, but the TRD OR's are built in Mexico.

oh, maybe its is just the double cabs, or maybe I'm just crazy. Who knows? Either way, it is cool that you could drive down to the factory.

Make it a long bed, and I'll take it in a heartbeat. It's got to have the tech and towing packages, though.

 

I have an access cab long bed and don't know if I would want a short bed either. But a double cab long bed does look loooong. They look better lifted with the bigger tires IMO.

 

I see a half-dozen Gen 2 DCLBs every day during my commute. They look juuuuuust fiiiiiiiine.

 

I wasn't expressing any dislike whatsoever. I going to need the double cab when the little one gets bigger. And having a pop-up, I really need a long bed for camping gear. You just can't pack very much in a pop-up.

I was under the understanding that OR's only came in short bed. Is that true but the G3's have a long bed now?

Friend of mine at dealer went to San antonio today. Toured factory. Sent me pics of the truck. My build sheet went to San antonio. It's being shipped from San antonio to Houston to be outfitted then here to Austin. I'll post pics tomorrow if he says it's ok.

 

My OR is going to be long bed and DC. I need it for motorcycles and stuff.
Dealer said it wasn't common but they got it ordered. Builds in two weeks.
And I agree, will look good with few inches lift and tires.

 

Not a BBP, but yes, a 3rd gen TRD OR can be a long-bed now... It's not my thing personally. I don't see a 6' bed being much more useful than a 5' bed. Most things that don't fit in a 5' won't fit in a 6' either and will either require a trailer or racks (kayaks, quads, construction material come to mind).

 

Great pictures. Is it my imagination or is the moon roof shade covering part of the glass in the picture? Looks like it is covering nearly half of the moon roof.

I have a long bed on my 08. I also have a kayak and a 4 wheeler. I load both of them on my bed and I don't need a trailer or racks. I wouldn't be able to do it with a short bed. Sorry to burst your bubble. Need pics? Also, I like the extra space to load junk like all the green waste from my yard earlier today.

 

Nah, bad example on my part... I can fit kayaks, but no room in the bed for gear (coolers, luggage) so I built a rack. Would have been doing it anyway regardless of the LB vs SB. 4 wheeler, you can actually fit it in either (depending on if you want to load it on the tailgate)... I guess what I was trying to say (and failed at) was that I haven't found a single thing that my DCSB can't haul that my AC did haul (I had both, 2013s... the AC was a spur of the moment and I quickly grew tired of being limited to the rear interior storage being just big enough to fit groceries.

Regardless, I do like the Inferno one I saw in person. DCLB will be great for someone I'm sure... quite frankly I probably would have went with an ACSB if they had one just because I get so sick of the turning radius on a "small" DCSB being comparable to my dad's 2500 Duramax.

 

I would like to see a pic of your 2008 LB with the 4 wheeler and kayak.
