Include in your budget installing the ECGS front differential bushing.

FWIW...I have 5100s and Eibach/Toytec 521600 coils and Toytec Progressive AALs and 5160s in rear and my truck rides awesome. You may want to expand your search beyond OME. But then again, I spent a year on here reading, asking PMs to members and decided I wanted something a little different.

    Good Luck!

Spend more money and do it right the first time also!!

I believe 884s and 885s have the same spring rate, but 885s are taller. 886 and 887 have a higher spring rate and should only be used with heavy bumpers. I wouldn't suggest top plate spacers, they will add lift but sacrifice ride as they add preload to the spring, making it stiffer.

Going 3" is pretty high on the tacos. You will need UCAs, which add at least $400, will ride rougher, and cause accelerated wear on CVs, which can be reduced with a diff drop but then you are reducing your effective lift height.

Take a look at the Baja lift thread link in my signature. Not that you would go that route, but just stuff to consider.

What size tires do you plan on running?

So what would be an ideal setup for 2" cause thats really what i wanted as i think my truck already sags below stock as it has 180k on the original suspension. I want to redo it though, could i get 2" out of 5100s with ome 885s no spacers and not need UCAs?

    Ok here it is:

I just put in a lift pretty close to what you want. I ended up with roughly 2.5 inches overall. I am running 5100s front and rear, OME 884 springs, and the wheelers 3 leaf aal. Set the front 5100s to 0 and you should be good to go. You may or may not need UCAs. After the lift is in make sure you get an alignment. This will set everything back to normal and will also let you kno if you need UCAs. I bought everything from Wheelers Offroad. Good luck man!

2" is a good height, good ride quality and no need for UCAs.

i believe the 884s are closer to 2" and the 885s are closer to 2.5" with no additional weight. People that have run them can chime in with first hand experience. It also depends on cab, single, access or double.

If you stay near 2" you don't need the diff drop. Also do not get the standard Toytec AAL, go with the 3 leaf progressive AAL for better ride. Removing the overload gives 1.5" rear lift and better ride, leaving it in will give 2" and stiffer ride.

As for tire size at 2" lift, 265/75R16 or 265/70R17 pair vary well (1" over stock). You can see pics in the Baja thread link of what 2" front lift, 1.5" rear on that size looks like. Ideally try to get C-load tires to have minimal impact on mpgs and power.

884 885 and 887 are the same spring rate just different lengths

886's are a higher spring rate

Diff drops are ineffective on 2nd gens and 1/4" top plate spacers won't effect the ride

Don't forget brake lines. I just did the 2" lift and my brake lines were too short to be safe. And, stainless lines are a great upgrade. And a drop bracket for the exhaust, and poly bushings for the leafs and an air chisel to get the bushings out :) and longer Ubolts for the AAL.

    Thanks for the correction.

Drop bracket for the exhaust? You don't need longer U-bolts for the AAL if you remove the overload spring. If you keep it you will. The Icon 3 leaf progressive leaf came with them.
