The flat black helps a lot. The chrome just looks like braces

Yeah I like the black grill, although the chrome is growing on me. I wonder if you can pull off the Toyota logo to keep that chrome, make the rest black.

Depending upon the color of the truck, the emblem may look better with a different color. Example...a gold emblem may look good with a red truck. With this in mind, can we think about trimming out the trucks with an alternate color that would match? An example, when I was younger I had a black mustang that had gold accents everywhere including highlites in the wheels. The car looked awesome.

So, maybe dipping all emblems in a different color, and adding that same color in the wheels and other places.

Plasti dipped does look better than stock but there will be better options in due time.

That hydrographic shit looks cool. Not sure I'd want to put it on my wheels (powder coat is way better) but it could be pretty awesome for other things. Can get some intricate designs on intricate surfaces which can be very difficult with standard painting methods.

I believe Toyota makes an optional grill cover:

That seems like a terrible solution. On one hand I could not buy the truck I really want to buy. On the other, I could buy it and simply swap out the grill with any one of the dozens of inevitable aftermarket options. I think I'll go with the later.

I don't think you know what that analogy means. It's like liking the pig but not liking the shade of lipstick. Simply go with a different shade of lipstick.

I like the truck, I just don't like the grill which can extremely easily swapped out.

You are not making any sense. "Putting lipstick on a pig" is analogy for trying to make a piece of garbage look less like garbage by dressing it up. That is not what anyone is talking about. Unless of course, you think the truck is garbage.

The black matte grille looks cool, but the chrome grille looks cool in most color combos too. You have to give a design a chance to grow on you. People jumped all over the 2nd gen design at first too. It's natural to be hesitant of change, but the great majority of people are starting to really like the new look, especially once seen in person.

Also, I think a lot of what made people raise an eyebrow was more than the grille. The entire front-end protrudes more than other generations and the bumper sticks out as some people describe like a "fat lip." However, all of that is starting to look very bad-ass and is slowly making the 2nd gens look old and boring.
