The dealer is offering another $500 off MSRP so $28,200 for the Red V6 SR5. This dealer is an hour from home.
Local dealer is offering a 2016 SR with the black allow wheels, convenience pkg. 4 cyl auto MSRP $28369 minus 1700 so $26669, 15 minutes from home.
Four hours from home is the 2015 4cyl auto SR5 value pkg for $26,477, same truck manual trans for $25,777.
My plan from the beginning was to get a 4 cylinder.I really liked that V6,but I keep wanting to go for the 2016.
    Opinions?
    Thanks.

If you're leaning for the 4 banger then get it.
However don't settle you will only regret your decision later.
Spend a little bit more up front to get what you really want and enjoy it for years to come!

I'v heard a dozen people say they had 4 cyl's, and to buy the 6. One or two have said go for the 4 cyl. I'v had both, buy the v-6, if that's what you want to do...
    just an observation.

    Base 5 lug.

Cheaper, markedly better MPG than the 6 lug versions, 4 or 6. Runs over 20mpg in town, AC on, pushes 30 at legal hwy speeds.

If it meets your usage needs, why not?

Love mine. Yes, I'm cheap (frugal, and there is a big difference) too.

But I also don't need anything more for how I use the vehicle. Rather use my funds for other things.

    realistically, these are your options.
And this is what I'd go after. The onyl 4 bangers I've been in that had any get-up were sticks. So, personally, I'd pass on the 4, auto, and drop the extra $1500 on the V6.

I recently had to the hard decision whether to go with a '15 or wait for a '16. Got a great deal on a '15 and I have no regrets. Only thing that had me considering waiting was the better MPG on the '16, but after the info was released and it was only 2mpg higher, I picked up the '15. No regrets, whatsoever. Also, after having a chance to see more pictures of '16s, I'm much happier with the appearance on mine.

So I vote '15 and get a good deal. I just told the dealership I really wanted to wait for a '16 and they started offering me invoice pricing without me trying.

I dunno how this thread has progressed, but 4 cyl vs 6 cyl..

If you're going to use the truck like it's a car - 4 cyl.
If you're going to use the truck like a truck - 6 cyl.

I'm somewhere in the middle and find the 4 cyl. generally adequate for my needs, but there's a few weekends each year that I'm crawling up a sustained grade and just can't go any faster. Those days are bad days.
