Zach, the new fairing came in. Thanks bud!

I had just enough time to get a coat of paint on it, but no time to install. Headed out of town for the day job again tomorrow, maybe I'll get a chance to get both 40's installed next weekend.

    Not enough...

Ah. This makes sense now. Probably helps to cut down on the wind noise a bit too.

If anyone is looking for pelican cases to mount on the prinsu rack, I have two tan ones for sale. Great for carrying extra gear and tools up out of the way yet still being easily accessible. Nothing wrong with them, just swapped then out for two black ones.

I've been on the fence with ordering the 30 vs 40. What is your opinion between the two?

40 looks a little better most people's opinions. I personally have never needed the light of the 40 so I settled on the 30". It saves a bit of money and gets the job done.

I almost snagged one of the 40's up when it was on sale for $18 more than the 30's. Probably should have but wasn't sure about it yet. I like the way you 30 sits in the deflector.

I also noticed that on Heretic's website that they show stock photos with different color bezel bolts vs just black or stainless. Is this a special order option or is it no longer available?

I bought mine 2 weeks ago with the red bolts. It took a week to get the bolts from the supplier, but they look good on my red truck.

Each light bar from Heretic is custom built whether you order it from me or from them so they can get it done in any color for the bezels, or the bezel bolts, it just takes a bit longer to build. Let me know what you are looking for exactly and I can get you a quote. I can usually get you a bar for slightly less than directly from Heretic, they just have a minimum advertised price that I have to adhere to. If it is purchased with one of my products you get a discount anyway.

Installed... But I would suggest a few things to make the install go a bit easier. Painters tape on the inside of the rails. Without putting much pressure I seemed to have scratched my rails pretty good. Doh! Anyway it came out great.

Zach I sent you a pm if you can reply when you have a chance.

Got mine installed tonight too! Soooooo much extra hardware! Haha but it can never be a bad thing. Appreciate the quick turn around. It went together nicely. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1443501304.212826.jpg

So I'm pretty interested in these. I've been looking into picking up a a Thule mount anyways, as within 6-9 months, I'll be using my truck for work (Starting my own buis.)
These look super sturdy, and clean. They'd be used for ladders for the most part, but, will be put to use maybe 12 times a year (at the most) for camping gear, motorcycle gear, ect..

I've been reading through a bunch of pages, probably 30+, but a couple things, I could not find the answer to.

    1) How noisy are these? Realistically. I understand, different circumstances, crosswinds, loads, ect.. I've been driving trucks and vans with ladder racks for 10+ years, so I'm used to noise, but, I'd like to know if these seem to be any noisier than those?

    2) When purchasing these racks, is everything that is needed for installation included? I thought I saw something where you'd need the Thule racks anyways.

I'd be looking at the campershell rack for sure, and, depending on if there's some kind of package deal, I'd probably order the cab portion as well. That's something that we can discuss over PM's. I'm still a few months out before ordering, depending on if certain items of mine can sell sooner than later, that may change to a month out..

Anyways, I posted this here instead of PM in-case someone else had similar questions.

    Thanks!

    -Daniel

Hey Zach, @zscott the skids finally landed! You have any install notes floating around somewhere? Do we use factory bolts for the front mount? (Fingers crossed no, think I have lost/used mine up) and not sure how the rear months go together. Im sure if I spend quality time with it Ill figure it out.

So I am too experiencing wind noise. Though it's not that bad most times. I too noticed the further up I had the first cross bar, the louder it got.
Also experiencing a deep vibrating hum that feels like you're riding on a rumble strip. When parked I used the flat of my palm to hit the wind deflector, which in turned made a very similar deep resonance. I moved the first cross bar back a bit and most of my noise is bearable in cab, friends complained about Bluetooth background noise, I'm probably going to move the Bluetooth mic.

As for the deflector, I'm thinking of laying down a thin piece of rubber on the cross bar it mounts to, maybe that will lessen some of the resonance I'm hearing from it.

    1) Noise is very subjective. I haven't carried ladders on mine so I can't give a solid answer there. I will say that the racks seem quieter when loaded (even with kayaks and other things). When I had the factory tacoma rack deployed it was noisier than these racks. I don't remember my old rack on my car but I had a nice sound system and rarely had it turned down.

    2) For a toprac you need a track system on your shell for the best mounting. That can be a thule, yakima, rhino, or even some other brands. Everything else is provided. And that is just the "tracks", not the feet or load bars from thule that you will need.

Neat link here on a possible way of dealing with the XM antenna. Trying to past from another page and not so good at that, hopefully this works.
