Don't you mean dual vvti? All second Gen Tacomas have vvti.
This, and why I don't know
Anything. Drive in any sort of inclement weather, go off the pavement, help a friend move, get in a wreck and live... I know you didn't ask me but just the general advantages of a truck.

@AgentRS could you tell me exactly which rims and tires you have? Keep in mind rotational mass is a multiple of stationary mass. So if each wheel is 30 lbs heavier it probably feels like you're hauling 480 lbs plus the difference in your effective gearing you've made.

Every time I bought a Toyota since 2000 someone told me "Toyota quality isn't what it used to be". I don't know what it used to be, but it still beats the shit out of anything else, except maybe Honda. But Honda doesn't make a real truck or a real SUV. I had this this guy living next to me who only drove Dodges and Chevy's and came down on me over a card game for not buying 'Merkin. Then I pointed out that his car was made in Mexico and my Toyota was made in USA. He took offense to that but couldn't argue any further. Then he went on how I should buy Chryslers anyway and when I told him my Jeep story, he told me (wait for it) "You must have gotten a Monday car, never buy a Monday car" while I'm thinking "You went full-retard. Never go full retard"

You have to upgrade the stereo to make it a capable truck?

My 2007 did not have VVTi and was very sluggish between 35 and 55 if you did not downshift. The 2007 had one less spring in the leaf. The 2015 has three full leaf's plus the smaller one on the bottom. The tailgate was and still is not a problem. I loaded some heavy things in the 2007. As to my comments about hauling lumber, etc. I also haul gasoline for my other powered engines I have at home, i.e. lawnmower. Have a large Zero Turn radius mower and it uses a lot of gas. Have large power washer, haul propane for other items at home. None of those get hauled inside a GX460 SUV. It if just unsafe. Hauled some furniture items the other day that would not go inside the GX, let alone risking the chance of damaging the interior. Also haul mulch from time to time. It think most home owner's do pretty much the same.

Careful with the grocery talk. I have seen many up in arms on here with stories of "groceries rolling all over the place".

Yes, I know this, but I'm glad you pointed it out again because it further reconfirms the root issue which is lack of stock power, which is indeed further exacerbated by increased rotational inertia but not my core complaint here. To put things into perspective, if the equivalent added rotational mass of my wheels/tires equals 480lbs of regular mass, I still find it sad that adding 2 adults and a child passenger would cause this truck to not be able to go up a slight grade at highway speed without downshifting and revving to near redline.

I heard that the supercharger adds 507.92 HP. Double check with @Rock Lobster though

Edit: needed to be more rediculous

You didn't buy a racetruck. Its a daily driver weekend warrior truck. Its not meant to equip oversized tires and still get a 7 second 0-60. The truck has plenty of pep. If that's not your core complaint you're pretty good because the rest is fixable or livable.

    However...
285s should not make any v6 Tacoma red line at grade. That's just ridiculous. Something's fishy here. I think it would do good to record yourself 0-60 and show us.
TRD claims 68 and 68 no?
If you want a powerful truck, listen to Lobster

Have two comments. I know some people will ask if you test drove the truck, but a lot of times a test drive doesn't reveal the little things.
    1. It took me a couple weeks as i got used to the seat, i hated it at first but now i dont mind it at all
    2. rear defrost - was also disappointed in this, but through a whole winter i realized its not needed. Not once did my rear windows fog or accumulate ice/snow.

If you hammer on your truck offroad, IE excessive offroading, not its intended purpose, even though it can, the core support on the front of the truck will start bending, and the battery will start coming through the fender sheet metal. Again, standard driving and light offroading will not cause this issue, so the battery is only an issue to those of us that offroad more than just a standard fire trail or gravel road.
