hey guys I've searched and searched and just can't seem to find pictures of forward facing car seats in a double cab. I have a 3yo and want to make sure he'll have enough room

I have a 3 year old and plan to get my first Tacoma soon. He'll have enough room. I know another guy posted on here a few days ago with his Tacoma and a front facing in the back. I believe he has a dark grey double cab. I'll try to find it for you.

The 4yo still have leg room behind you? You know where he's feet aren't slammed against the back of seat

Yeah it's enough for sure. I plan to get a back "kick" mat cover for the seat he sits behind. In my Toyota Matrix he puts his feet against it. I was pissed about it at first but I don't blame him for long trips it has to get annoying having your feet dangle there.

I took my 4 year old son and his car seat to the dealership, and loaded him up in the back of an Access Cab. There was plenty of room for him and the person in the front seat as well.

Awesome. My wife is trying to push getting a new Silverado but I don't really want to go full size when mid size can fit me just fine. And I also like the looks, reliability, features, resale, and mpg of the Tacoma.

i think there is enough room with the booster type seat from that thread. i have to say i have my 3 1/2 year old in mine and she has to be in the middle. there just isnt enough leg room for her in her car seat behind the driver or passenger seat without moving the seats forward.

Depends on how tall you are. I am 5'10" and my son would be a bit jammed up in the car seat behind me. In the booster seat he is fine. Put the kid in the middle and no worries except scuffs from their restless leg syndrome on your center console....

I'll grab some pics too. I have a 2 and 3 year old in mine. Is it tight? Yea. Does it work? Yep.

Just FYI the resale, features, and mpg between the Tacoma and most full sized trucks is small. Actually, as far as features and mpg go the fullsized wins hands down. Not trying to sway you either way, but you might want to do a bit more digging on those topics if that's why you're buying a Tacoma. My wifes F150 easily fits our car seat, stroller, and a pile of groceries in the back because the cab is so much bigger and the floor is flat under the seats.

All that being said, the only problem I have with the Tacoma is the rear facing car seat and the lack of room to keep things like a full sized stroller inside. Front facing cars seats would be fine. I've test fitted ours and it will work great. A little tight, but great.

The good thing is... in a few years you wont need the car seat and stroller and problem solved. Will fit them comfortably well into their teens. That's also why I have my wife's Rav4 for most daily family things. My truck will be for my use, family trips, and occasionally everyone crammed in to go to the beach.

Works great for me. 3 year old behind driver seat. Added a Blue Ridge Overland MOLLE panel and accessories this week.
