thanks for the replies, but I have been through both of these options with no success. I'm not sure what happened, with headlights on, the nav screen switches to night mode (black and grey streets). headlights off and it switches back to color (day mode)

You need to perform the sequence with lights on and again with lights off.
I did this in both my Tacoma and Rav-4 with both the camera and screen views.
It works. Read closer in your manual.

Play with the brightness and contrast settings. Sounds like yours is off. Mine is color full time.

    Edit.
Played around with my settings today and if I turned down contrast AND brightness the screen took on a grayishness.
Also you can select from some different color schemes.
That's all I have for you.

Any chance there is a link or site to buy the navi unit from? I have a 2015 with factory touchscreen and bluetooth and xm, just didnt get the navi and i would like to add it. Also is there anything else i would need in ways of adapters or extra wiring or antennas coming from a factory 2015 touch screen xm model with the sharkfin on the roof?

Welcome Bret! You can PM - that's a personal message to FLTrucks. Click on your user name and start a new conversation and ask for one. looks like it takes a few weeks to here back. If you get the radio you have to transfer your XM module over to the new one and its all plug and play. your antenna will pick up the nav. If you want the entune APP suite you need a vin # that's compatible. :)

Looks like from just reading post #1564 on page 79 the radios are no longer available. Sorry for the wrong info. Keep a eye out on the 2 gen market place. Sometimes they pop up. Good luck.

Any ideas where I can get the connection plugs for these? I am assuming that one is for XM and the other is for the Entune apps...
I failed to mention that the is being installed in a 2012...

Received my Radio from FLTrucks and it is now installed. Works great, thanks to all the info in this thread (and other threads on the forum)! FLTrucks is great to work with. Hope this can continue with the Gen 3's now that the Gen 2 radios are going the way of the TRD superchargers...

Won't be as much demand since the 2016 Limited, Sport and Off-road now come with Entune premium and JBL version available on Double cabs.

Still, this was way cheaper than paying for it from the factory with the associated markup..:amen:

I wanted nav from the factory when I was looking for my 2015 but they did not exist with an Access Cab.
$600 sticker $450 invoice price. Dealership wanted $2000ish.
So getting mine from FLTrucks was great.
Only down side is no warranty or support from the dealer which I don't think will ever be a problem.

True, but I can always swap my original Entune + back in if I have a problem... :)

Me too but I wouldn't want to. Like the Nav too much. Maybe I should have bought 2.

I bought the original unit from FLTrucks, but thought the XM was built in like my original radio.

I've PM'd FLTrucks 3 times in the past month, but no reply to my request for him sell me the add on unit.

I'm now looking for the XM add on.

    Anyone?

With all respect you need to remove the XM module from under your original radio and install it under the new one with the wire haness. It sounds like it's still on the old radio. That's how my 14 is. The '12's might bee different but check your original radio Hope this will help. JD

On the 12's ( std radio) the xm module is internally on the radio and not line the 13-14's where it bolts under the radio. If he wants xm he will have to by the module separately and install it.
