hey guys, I have a 2015 Tacoma trd pro 17" alloys wrapped in Bridgestone dueler h/t which I hear aren't good for snow/ice at all. I live in ny and go on frequent ski trips to Vermont and I also plow in the winter (not in my tuck but need to drive 15-20miles in any snow to get to job site). Based on what guys have said about the dueler h/t I think I want to get cheap wheels and a set of winter tires just to be safe, don't want to have to put extra stress on clutch/transfer cases just bc the tires suck... More than ok with rocking black steelies for the winter but I've heard there hard to find in this size so maybe the base Tacoma steel wheels?? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Wow all those are expensive! You should be able to find TRD off road alloy wheels (which will stand up to winter much better, and are lighter) for less than or equal to that. There is a set locally in Seattle, for 4 TRD alloys, with TPS sensors, and tires for $200.

I'm in Long Island New York, would drive but really no more than 200 miles unless it was a good enough deal. I guess I'll just have to keep my eye out

Off topic but does anyone know the weight diff between these two (stock steelies and TRD OR)? There is a big wheel thread that does not contain rim weight.

What could it depend on? These are two specific known wheels? ( I am talking wheels not wheels plus tires)

    weight doesn't matter here

start a new thread if you want the different weights

I don't know all the possible weights and
all the possible years and don't know the year of the wheels posted above

    3 to 8 pounds
