Could someone please explain why a TRD Sport is not available with a double cab and long bed with a manual transmission? I cant understand why its available as an auto but not manual, neither dealers or toyota seam to know if I can order one or not.

You cannot order that config, doesn't exist. No other reason than Toyota hates you...

Lol seriously they must just hate people who like to drive stick. Everyone does. Even my current vehicle only had a sunroof option on autos and not sticks. I get that stick isnt popular with how lazy people are nowadays and the fact that no one even knows how to anymore and autos are now more efficient and faster but their is still a decent amount of people who only buy stick and I just cant comprehend why I need to settle for a short bed.

Yeah it sucks. No longbed, no Limited, no JBL if you want a manual.

The fact that you cannot get a v6 manual in any trim other than TRD is a bad move.

The TRD package doesn't add anything useful for me. I'd be fine with a DCSB v6 4wd mt SR package which would be a sub $30k truck. But nope, I'd have to spend $34k just to get the options that I want with a package I don't.

And for $34k, I'll be buying a F150 or Tundra, not a Tacoma. Sure, they're autos but at least it's much more of a truck.

Yea the choice for a stick truck is tough. Id love a ram 1500 but not an option. Only full size truck in stick now is ram 2500 and 3500 but now the problem is they are only offered with a diesel. Ive owned a diesel and loved it but any diesel made after 2006 has too much epa garbage on it making it no longer worth having a diesel. So I have to settle for a small pick up which im fine with but I cant even get a 4 door and 6ft bed .

FWIW, the Tundra double cab is slightly more rear legroom than the Tacoma but you can get it with a 6.5 or 8.1ft bed. Again, it's auto but you're looking at 33k for a tundra dcab 4x4 4.6l v8, or go up to the 8.1 bed with the 5.7 for 35k....but thats a biiiiiiiig truck. The cheapest dcab tacoma with 6ft bed is 35k, but thats a SR5 whereas the tundra is a SR.

    Base model SR DC, 4wd, 6.5 bed, 4.6 v8, 33k. And by DC, I don't mean crewmax..

As far as standard features, the SR5 comes with chrome bumpers and grill (I hate chome, so thats a negative) entune with nav (useless, I use my phone for nav and SR has entune/BT), fog lights (meh) intermittant wipers (nice but not really needed) and sliding rear window (only thing that I'd actually use) all for $2000 over the SR in comparable trim. No thank you.

I do wish the SR came with the 5.7 though, I'd pay another $1000 for it.

I hear ya. Having to park in a garage is definitely a full sizes downfall haha,

The 2016 Tundra DC 6.5' bed is only 3" longer than the DCLB 2016 Tacoma though. But every other dimension (width, height, and wheelbase) the tundra is about 6" larger.

    76.4h x 80w x 229l 145.7 wb (DC 6.5' Tundra)

    70.6h x 74.4w x226l 140.6 wb (DCLB Tacoma)

Forgive me if this has been answered: Why does Toyota.com not let me build a truck to see the pricing with all options available? When I go on there, there are no options for a MT. Barely any options at all other than the main packages too. Also, when I build the truck I would want to get (DCSB/DCLB, TRD OR, AT, 4x4), it gives me a price of right around $35,000. So why is it that on autotrader or on here, the prices for those are around $36-38,000? Am I missing something?

Try a different zip code. There might not be any manuals allocated to your region. I had been using California zip codes but they are starting to sell out of some stuff so I switched to North East codes lol. Also if you are in SET's region you will get a breath of fresh air when you do this.. SET's website is awful.

That's weird. Can I do it without a zipcode so I can just see the standard options regardless of what's available in my region?

I don't think so but you're in the right thread if you want to know what's available regardless of region.

I just noticed if I select a TRD sport with access cab it gives you a choice of auto or 5-speed manual but if you select it with double cab and 5ft bed you have the option of auto or 6-speed manual. Please tell me this is a glitch or something. Why would one cab be a 5 speed and another be a 6 speed. Im getting so put off by the limited options on this truck.

I dont think they have the build options worked out on their site yet. Pretty much if you want anything specific any time soon it is going to have to be custom ordered or the dealer is going to have to find an allocation for a vehicle scheduled for build and change it. I went to a dealership wanting DCLB TRD Sport, V6 4x4 with premium and tech package (not an option on the toyota build site), with towing but no mud flaps or floor mats. The dealer sent a request to Toyota to change the build to my specifications and waited a day until it was approved. Your best bet is to price it out on truecar and find somewhere thats willing to work with you

What options can you only get on the Limited? Can you order heated leather seats in Sport?
