I've been lurking around on TW in search of a fair priced and decent lift but I don't want a body lift or slapping blocks. It seems like everyone and their mother is head over heels for bilstein 5100's. I checked rock auto to see what they have and they carry Rancho Quicklifts. I was surprised I had never even heard of them on this forum and was wondering why. So after scouring the forums after searching "rancho" (in case you're wondering there are A LOT of Rancho Cucamonga threads haha) I still haven't found my answer. Why isn't anyone running Rancho?! Did I miss the memo?! :tinfoilhat:

Got the Rancho quick lift on the front suspension and Rancho 9000 on the rear with dakars leaf springs. Never had any issues. Have put 110k on the quick lift.

You can adjust the firmness to your desire with the 9000 series struts.

I just read a few threads here last night about them. Caligula had posted some links in another thread and yes, those owners were happy with them.

Rancho's QuickLift fills an interesting void in the marketplace. Cheaper than the "serious" strut/coil setups because it's not a specialty off-road solution (and Tacoma World has a strong user base who off-road a lot) ... but more expensive than OEM replacements from say, Gabriel or Monroe.

The added lift is there for people wanting to notice a difference without going up to a 3" or whatever sky rise ...

The image Rancho uses in their marketing to illustrate the front end lift, showing the two Silverados nose to nose, seems to me the target demographic. Basically a street or work truck where the owner wants to lose the forward rake and ... level it out.

The adjustable struts/shocks I'm less sure about. Most probably set them in the middle positions, which is undoubtedly where a decent shock that's non-adjustable would likely be designed anyway. Rancho makes a remote control for that I think that would be fun to play with while driving.

I'd like to know how the QuickLift achieves the lift. Is it a longer strut or coil?

That kit above is a bit different in that it has more stuff than just the QuickLifts. It's got upper control arms included and the setup is designed to use the stock alignment. For 1st gens (at least) you can just buy the QuickLifts alone and spend a lot less. Dunno if that's the case with newer Tacos?

I have the rancho quicklift on my 2005 2.7 4x4. Rides better than stock and love the way my truck sits. Toyed around with different adjustments and literally can't tell any difference. I will do bilstens or icon on my next Toyota. Been eying the 2016!

I ran Ranchos on my 84 xtra cab with 3" lift, it was the best aftermarket lift back then, and I was kinda wondering why they are not as popular today.

I've got the quick lift struts and 9000's in the rear. Couldn't be happier how it looks and rides.
I have mine set at 5 and might actually go stiffer. My truck sits almost level with General HD rear springs.
I think the Rancho's are underrated personally, everyone just automatically associates them with 80's lumber wagon technology.

    Just some stuff...
I've had rancho quicklift struts up front for about a year now on my 2000 Tacoma. They're not bad, but still thinking about getting some bilsteins. I keep thinking there must be a reason everybody raves about them and they aren't too expensive. I must admit that about a month ago they started squeaking pretty bad just going over the speed bumps in the parking lot at work so I sent an email to rancho asking if there was an easy way I could fix this myself and the next thing I knew there were two brand new struts sitting on my front porch. That kind of customer service is hard to find nowadays.
