I'm moving from a 2005 tundra 4.7 liter v8 to a 6. Same towing. Better mpg. Same payload. But still a bit nervous. No way I could do a four banger, especially with same mpg. I cannot speak from experience, but if you load up the four with kids and cargo I am sure it will be a dog. I could be wrong.

Depends on you needs. I've never had to tow more than 5500 lbs. 5500 with no sway bar was a little sticky in higher grade hills, but with sway bar and leveler....no problem. Anything closer to the limit I would go full size.

I here you. In all the fours I had, long trips and much of a load were a real chore. It just isn't pleasant trying to pass when you have momentum or avoiding semis....I just find vehicles with more powerful motors less tiring. To me, that means safer.

I guess you don't understand that power, doesn't necessarily mean speed?

Power is the way to move and object--such as a tractor. It might not have a lack of power.. but is damn sure slowing doing what it needs to do.

I know what you mean ...just giving you a little ribbing. Now the truth.
I have a tractor. A compact L3400HST Kubota with just a 35 hp motor and very little more torque. You can gear it down like any motor it's size and move real heavy stuff.....slowly. That doesn't require much power. It takes more power to go fast or to move things quickly then it does to do lots of work slowly.. That's all about gearing. Cars and trucks need horse power and lots of it to go fast. They need "time" to move things slowly. That's why I responded the way I did. Inertia needs lots of power to overcome and accelerate to higher speeds , much more so then moving an object slowly. "Speed is all about power".
The universal speed limit is the speed of light because even to accelerate one ounce to that speed, there is not enough power on earth to do it

Torque gets you moving, horsepower gets you going faster.
I understand what you're saying, I just don't think the truck is -underpowered- in a sense.. It is a tractor.. .geared down to make itself move.. Just not fast
More power the better though.. thats what I have a camaro for.

With the resale values being so high, I'd say the '15. If you don't like it, you can always sell it for about what you paid for it.
