How do those tires work?? They look new. For half the price of their Goodyear look a likes I've been contemplating making a 2-tire purchase.

Do you air those down Chris? Only time I hear issues about retreads is when they are aired down.

I was running the last 2 sets at 15psi the whole desert season. And as you know I go during the summer also. Never had any issues.

You have the Bead to Bead ones though. I have a set of early guard dog retread 35's on a 87 suburban. One tire does not like to hold a bead at 10 lbs but I attribute that to the original tire. Probably doesn't help how heavy a truck they are on. They have been great tires otherwise.

Don't get me wrong I am extremely pleased with the tires. For the price they are exceptionally amazing. Back when they were purchased they had a hard time getting sets of tires to retread, so I believe early sets had some problems related to that. I am sure I will buy another set for one of my trucks in the future.

Not a whole lot. I have the defined kit in the rear and I like to have the truck sit level.

U could cycle the suspension measuring the camber throughout and maybe find the sweetspot, set your preload accordingly, might give that bro look tho, I felt that my truck feels like it understeers if there's not enough castor in there, but I'm running about 6* now

So who makes the best spindle gussets for a first gen 4wd? I've installed some badass TC on a second gen, included a gusset to the steering arm where the tie rod attached. Seemed bullet proof.
My gussets I have now didn't help me... granted, my welding has gotten alot better since when i installed them originally... I still bent a spindle in moab this year. Not looking for criticism about welding right now. Just looking for insight on products. Mine bent right at the bottom of the gusset, right above the bearing. Has any company made a more beefy gusset for first gens?

You could always add to a gusset kit, like that TC one with the tierod knuckle part, it's just a piece of flat plate

Hi guys, finally caught up in here. Sorry to hear about your accident @jeffz0rz hopefully you heal up fast!!

So much stuff about valving in here that I don't understand!

I've barely had my baby LT kit on... Still got a lot to learn. I have rounded out eccentrics on my front right LCA. I also heard a loud pop trying to get up an obstacle last weekend. Now my truck makes loud pops like crazy. I really hope it's just my LCA slopping around and not a grenaded CV. I thought my limit straps were adjusted good :notsure: i wasn't really even romping on it so I'm not impressed.

I know you don't want to hear about welding, but i have to ask because usually bending a spindle after its been gusseted means improper welding was done. I only have 1 question, how did you preheat the spindle before welding?

Im not aware of any other gussets that are any different than TC either. Ive seen a few others but they are the exact same design basically.

He did say that the spindle bent, and I don't see how it bending has anything to do with welding. If it cracked along side the weld, or if the gusset peeled off of the spindle, that's a different story.
