Don't use decon in a garage. If animals get sick they go and hide. Usually in your car. Use snap traps. Took me 3 hours to find this guy. Smells horrible. Very expensive.

    morning all:
Good to hear you have power back on Dave. Couple hrs. isn't bad, days without power can get old fast, at least you have a generator.

    Catfish bait Mike?

After a few outages it kind of loses its thrill. And for us these days the difference between power and no power is mostly just having to keep gas in the generator.
The longest we've been out is 12+ days. These multi-hour outages happen at least once a year. Yesterday's was due to a tree or branch coming down in a storm, which happens a lot around us.
Try finding them inside your house after the cats bring them in. :anonymous:

We put the screening over the garden pond last week after seeing a heron out there with one of our fish in its mouth. Heron hasn't given up; yesterday I spotted it standing on top of the netting. It's more skittish now though, and any small sound from the direction of the house sends it aloft. Dang that bird is big. I'll try to get a picture.

Just heard some bad news this morning. A guy that I've known since high school was found dead in his house a few weeks ago. He was a bachelor who lived with his mother, and when his mother passed he inherited the house and lived there alone. He wasn't found for a couple weeks and from what I was told he looked a whole lot worse than the mouse when they found him. Can't even imagine what that house smelled like when they went in there.

Sorry to hear it Carl. :(

I guess we're at that age though, aren't we? I remember friends of mine having to extract their father from his house after the wife died. She had taken care of everything - bills, mortgage, insurance, banking, cleaning, food, you name it - and when she died all of that stopped. When the kids finally realized how bad things were the house was a disaster area, not to mention the money mess from all the bills. Now I guess it could be me that someone would have to rescue! Although I do know how to write a check...

What type of Generator and the brand name please. I am partial to Onan but I grew up with them in the work place and military. I know they are owned by Cummings these days I would hope that does not make a difference.

 good luck on saving the fishies

    :( Sorry Carl....

That'll be me when it's my time... They'll find me a month or two afterwards

:pout: :help:  :angrygirl: :annoyed: found out where the water leak was coming from :pout: Headed to lowes to get a new vent seal... got the wrong size. Found that out, when I put the new one on, and it got stuck. Had to leave it, since we are supposed to get up to 12" of rain over the weekend. I am NOT going back on my roof!!!! Not so much scared of heights, but of the angled surface :anonymous:

    evening boys!!

The back is doing great. Just need to keep stretching every day. Still leery about lifting weights. I need to build up from 1/2 hour of cardio to an hour plus get back on a nutrition plan.

It rained really hard for long stretches of time today. We had 1.28 inches in our back yard today.

I've had over 3" the last week. Haven't checked the gauge today. Just glad I looked at the vent pipe - and saw the torn boot. Had to get my binoculars to verify.... :anonymous: Hope you live on high ground.... gonna be a wet few days.
