Let's hope when it all shakes out that it is still smog legal....

I don't know nearly enough to say that it wouldn't be....but if I were a betting man, I'd say it will be.

I also got an email from LCE, these new versions won't include the TRD logo, other than that they should be the same

This is a relief to hear. Then I will hold on to my Main Assembly and wait and see if I (And Im sure many others) can get a Fit Kit from Magnuson .

In the LCE forum post it says "Currently it is available exclusively through LC Engineering."

Below is the text portion of the email. They also go on to say that the SC will be 50 state emissions legal, in an image portion of the email that is not as easy to copy/paste.

LCE Brings Back The 3.4L 5VZ Superchargers!

Unless you live on another planet, you most likely heard that Toyota Japan has killed the TRD supercharger program, upsetting Toyota owners and sky-rocketing the prices of the few available units.

Toyota contracted Magnuson to build the entire TRD Supercharger line, and as of recent, Maguson purchased all rights to produce the same units once again. LCE as Magnuson dealers, tracked down the superchargers straight from the source. We are happy to annouce the comeback of these awesome superchargers.

The Magnuson Supercharger is the exact same unit as the "TRD" Supercharger internally, just without the TRD boss on the casting (for obvious reasons) and a slightly updated exterior. Installation and maintenance are the same and they are backed up by years of experience from one of the most reputable companies around.
Magnuson is also adding a bit more bang for your buck by introducing a 3 year/30,000 mile warranty on the charger itself!

Yep, I read that... When I read the ad that contained the "50 State smog legal" I read it as though all they really did was scrub the letters "TRD" from their original ad. Knowing CARB they will be charging Magnuson a fee to certify it in their name, regardless of the logic that it is exacty the same, for each year of each vehicle that it is sold for. That would be quite a large dollar amount which could easily deter anyone from wanting it to be certied as smog legal. .... I guess what I'm saying is I'll believe its 50 state legal when they present the certification letter.

Here's hoping though, it would be amazing if they could work it out.

The most current information from Magnuson is that they are working on the legals for the Carb Legal Cert for California, At this moment it is not listed as so, but they are actively working on it and this should be resolved in the very near future.

I wonder if Magnuson will look into developing SC for 3rd generation Tacomas then?

I know they are working on other models, but we do not have confirmation at this time to be able to provide details or Eta's. We will post updates as details become available.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I knew LCE would jump on this bus!

How does the price of the new 3.4 kit ($2999.95) compare to the TRD MSRP?

I know you just said you dont have details, but I'd like to put my vote in for the 5.7 supercharger..... that would make a fun DD/tow vehicle!

They just said they're looking into the 4.0 supercharger next.

"We are currently looking into the 4.0L as the next one in line, but we don't have an ETA yet."
