Race Consulting Agency cannot do the free shipping as they are only making like $3 on the item anyway. They're a discount shop basically

You would be surprised, I have a 13' with only 25k miles, only do a hand full of wheeling a year, 2-3 trips/year, truck sits in garage as I have another daily driver, mostly highway miles. My oem ones were trashed when I replaced em, you may wanna re consider...

Edit: I did small on top, large on bottom with the washers both sides.

Crom, you have any pics of your cab bushing wear? I would be curious to see if they are even remotely as bad as the rad supports

Thanks, I'll probably do an inspection each oil change. I don't do any off roading and no trips at all.

Mileage is a factor, but it's mostly environment. Humid rotting, dry cracking, summer/winter heat cycles. The factory uses soft rubber in everything because the majority of consumers just want silence, and vibration control. Longevity (and to enthusiasts, performance) is a trade-off for those qualities.

When I bought a used VW, Honda, Audi, etc, one of the first things I'd do was install an ES master bushing set.

I am under the impression that my cab mounts are okay for the time being although the first picture below looks kinda bad. My primary interest in the body bushings is for performance. I want to reduce body roll. Secondary to that interest, is peace of mind of getting rid of the wearable rubber part for the more durable polyurethane.

I'll be very honest about these factory bushings. I do not understand why they are shaped the way they are. It looks weird as hell to me.

Bushing pictured from the top frame perch. (looks flaky?)

Side view of the lower bushing. Why the hell is there a huge gap in there? The factory LCA bushings are the same way. I have no idea why.

Yeah its weird. The LCA bushings are terrible. If I don't apply antisieze to them every year they'll get frozen in the rubber bushings.

Will do and will try to take some in process pics too. Should be pretty easy

So for the guys replacing the radiator/body mounts right behind the front bumper, are you purchasing the whole body mount kits from either ES or Race Consulting?

Also when you go to replace them are you only unbolting the front two mounts and not the rest of the body mounts and then jacking up the front body portion and sliding the new mounts in place? (this may have been already covered)

Your speculations are correct. unbolt both of the front supports, pull them one at a time, but get them both installed before you torque it back down.

Thus far, I believe only @Crom has done the body bushings, correct me if im wrong, the body bushings seem to not be as necessary as the front rad support bushings.

Thank you Pitchfork311, I didnt want to have to replace body mounts yet if I did not have to. I have an awful squeak coming from my front passenger side and i believe I have tracked it to that radiator/support mount. As it does not squeak in sequence with suspension flexing but it does with the frame, and when I climb underneath and listen while flexing the frame it seems to be coming from the mount, my guess it the rubber finally rubbed through and the metal bushing is rubbing on my frame.

You would be surprised, the bushing is probably separated so you getting movement of the support against the frame. I had pops in my front end before I replaced em, eliminated a lot of my front end noise. The beauty of it, it only takes ~30 min to replace, and it was cheap! The rewards pay off immediatly

did you torque the mounts to any specific spec or just "good-n-tight"?

Nah. Not yet for me. @Torspd is the only one that has done it that I know about. Search this thread for his unsername, I posted links to his build thread where he wrote about it and posted some pics.

I searched a large part of the factory service manual and I could not find the torque values which I wanted to know... But common sense can go a long way with the bushings, IMO. :D

Trying to gauge interest, I'll probably have my radiator 9.4101G set for sale after next sunday.
Reason: I bought the cab/body mounts kit and it came with new bushings for the radiator that are smaller in size. I don't need the larger bushing for bumper clearance offroad.

Would anyone want to buy my two week or so used radiator bushings
