I added 3" of memory foam to the camper. $80 at SAMs. No it doesn't deflate, but man is it comfy. An electri knife will cut it to fit. Maybe an option?

Thanks guys, a lot of great advice. I may just grab another coleman for now, they are cheap. I think an Exped is in my near future. I am a Buy It For Life kind of guy, and they maybe the closest thing.

I will be upgrading to a RTT in the next few years (more than 1, less than 5), but I have three kids, as they get bigger, they will start staying in the ground tent and they can use the Exped(s) while my wife and I enjoy privacy in the RTT.

Snowpeak's titanium stuff is gold. Just be careful cooking with it for those who haven't used Ti cookware before ha. I've seen the aftermath of people leaving them empty over heat like it was any other pot or pan.

Anyone in here have a ZPacks bag/quilt.

I'm pulling the trigger on one shortly and am just curious if anyone here has owned one.

Same experience here with the Walmart intex brand or whatever it is. We use a twin for my oldest daughter about $15 for camping. I occasionally blow it up and put it in the living room for the kids to jump on. They beat on it pretty hard, after many months of use one of the baffles gave way, it's still usable but looks like it has a giant tumor haha. I now keep that one in the living room toy box and replaced it with a new one in the camping tote.

These are worth every penny if spending multiple days in a camping scenario. I used one of these for 4 days during the Rolex 24, and it made living out of my truck and tent almost effortless. The height helps for crawling in and out of bed, you can sit on the edge of it while getting dressed, and if they do lose some air, it takes a large amount before it impacts the quality of your sleep.

Just a bunch of old crap
Which would you guys would say has the best fuel efficiency (thinking about less fuel weight to carry), and most reliable? I'm always concerned about bringing only one canister of fuel for my Jetboil because I know valves have failed on the canisters, but I haven't used an iso stove since scouts.
    • Iso stoves?
    • Propane/Butane mix stoves? (using canisters)

The highest I've cooked at was 9k something and haven't had any issues.

Ive never had my jetboil fail due to the can. Mine doesnt like to light all the time though so i carry a lighter just in case. I do leave the fule canister screwed to the stove portion and put it in the mug portion as one unit though.

I will say i am not liking it as much in the cold weather nor high altitude. Anymore i limit it to right around freezing (+/- a few degrees) and 6k elevation or so. It will work higher and colder but i find it starts to not work as well as other options

I think the inverted canister setups are more suitable for that kind of condition.

Where do you Jetboil guys get your 100g isobutane canisters? Places around here just have the bigger 250g ones.

Not exactly camping related directly but I got some new climbing shoes in the mail today. I was super stoked to have an actual good pair (La Sportiva Katana Lace) and they don't fit me at all. I'm a bit bummed, so it's back to the drawing board. I need to try a lot more on and figure out what fits and does what I need it to. Anyone have a favorite shoe?

The REI local to me has them in both sizes, I think the Dick's does also.

If you have an REI local to you, they have free shipping to the store in case they don't carry the smalls normally. Free shipping to your house for $50+ orders.

    Amazon carries them also.
