Don't underestimate the fleet sales. Yes, these selling the first few months are selling to enthusiast and at a premium. Years 2 through 9 of the run will be a lot of $27,000 and under fleet trucks.

Agreed. I wasn't counting fleet trucks.

Haha comparing a Mitsubishi to a "$40k Toyota" is like comparing Burberry to Hanes.

But it was the point I was making. Mitsubishi marketed the eclipse/evo/lancer etc to early 20 year olds. And they had this huge press release a few years later saying how so many defaulted on their loans. I was just trying to prove my point with factual information.

Pretty cool commercial......but I really wonder if driving them like that voids the warranty. Does anybody know?

That's the line that caught my attention too. I highly doubt Toyota will wait another 10 years for a refresh/update, so 4-5 years makes sense.

I can't believe the rest of this thread turned into bickering because someone casually tossed out a 40k price tag comment.

People have been throwing out the $40,000 truck line left and right in lots of threads.

Look, am I saying you couldn't option out a Tacoma and spend $40,000? No. Am I saying that Toyota will sell a lot more Tacomas for $27,000 and under than they will sell for over $39,999.99? Yes.

Yes. If you create a situation in which the powered wheels spin faster than the non-powered wheels (I.e. burnout) the warranty becomes voided. This situation creates a "flag" in the ECU stored data which the techs immediately see.

I'm only 24. My other car was $25k and I have another $20k in mods in it. Not about how old you are, its about how hard you work.

    Tick.....Tock.......annoying as fock

What 25 year olds can afford a $40k truck after TTL

Or that's right, the average loan is now 67+ months with artificially low interest rates. Got it. Don't forget those who didn't actually have to pay for it.

Like my gf's cousin. 30yrs old, never had a real job long than 2-3 months, lives in a $600,000 condo, is in barber school (changes weekly), and was talking about getting a 2017 Raptor.

I likely make as much if not more than the older members of this board. My brother-in-law makes $150k-200k/year and he is only 18. age isn't everything
