Those tire pressures seem very high. I'm running the standard 29 front and 32 rear. Tire wear has been even and ride is perfect.

I've driven 60 miles on these so far, so it will be a week or so before I have any results. Tested on the interstate today, and at 70mph on the speedo I'm actually doing 73. There should be about a 4-5% difference in odometer readings I'll have to figure in to get my adjusted fuel mileage.

Oh wow not bad, do you feel at all sketchy with the narrow tires? I live in SoCal so a lot guys love the wider style tires but I don't like having to trim everything and then loose mpg. Trying to get a comparison between low and wide and tall and skinny

Doesn't seem any different than the 265s did as far as tracking and stability go. I was on a pretty deeply grooved interstate today and had no wandering and no movement in the steering wheel.

Yup, 255/85/16 on the TRD Pro simulated beadlocks. I just have the rings removed from the wheels.

$233/ea from Tirerack. They were the cheapest place I could find that had them in stock at the time. I found them cheaper from other places, but didn't trust their backorder status. I got them mounted/balanced for $15/ea.

Wow! I didn't realize Dick Cepek put out 255's either. That has to be fairly new, correct!?!
Does anyone have any reviews on these. I have to pull the trigger on one of these if my BFG's aren't coming in. From what I have read, the Big Horns are a bit louder than the BFG's and the Toyo's. Any info on the Cepek's?? I also have friends that ran DC's and loved them.

I ordered one km2, so I would have a matching spare, last week from 4wheelparts.com. they told me they were backordered, but they got it to me in less than a week.

I think this is good advice. I went from stock 3.73 gears to 4.56 on my Tacoma (V6, automatic trans.) With 33" tires and a moderate load it now goes up the freeway overpass without down-shifting which seems right to me. 4.88 would be good for off-road use but too much gear for highway driving unless you have 37" tires. It is all a big compromise.

I was seriously considering regearing. And after a lot of research I thought 4.10 would be a good ratio to get back to stock. Actually 4.30 would be perfect, but nobody makes a 4.30 front gear for our trucks. Do you feel your truck is overgeared with 33" and 4.56?

must be a very recent offering for sure as dick cepeck has updated their tire line all around. with the limited selection in this size i can't believe ppl here aren't going nuts for this new offering. we now have another mt rated tire with siping available!!! i really like my dc mud countries on my reg cab, great on and off road performance, got decent mileage out of them before getting rid of the truck. these are def on the table when i need new tires again next year!!

    Thanks for this review

Would like to know this as well. What's your rpms with 33's (do you have the 255's?). My whole issue is I'm on the fence about going to 35+ (skinny 36). But I would be on 33's for a long time after regearing. So with my heavy truck I don't know wether to do 4.56 or 4.88's.

My Tacoma has full 3 piece steel skids, the side sliders, steel plate bumpers (front with a Warn winch, rear with tire swing-out), a bed rack with a RTT and I carry probably 150 pounds of recovery gear and stuff before I load up for off-road camping. So I am pretty heavy, To me the truck was pretty gutless on the highway with 3.73 gears and would drop out of top gear (auto trans) climbing freeway overpasses with cruise control engaged. When I talked about regearing I was advised to go to 4.56 because 4.10 was not enough difference to bother with. At the time I planned to run 33" or maybe 35" tall tires. Not sorry in the least! The added torque is like adding 50 HP around town. I did ARB Lockers front and rear at the same time and in low range the truck will slow crawl over rocky stuff so well that I don't even care about a slight loss in fuel mileage, it wasn't good to start with. But my Tacoma is not my daily driver, so your situation may differ.

Oh, on the Interstate 65 MPH is around 2500 RPM and 3000 rpm get me cruising 78 MPH. Without a supercharger or V8 swap this makes me satisfied especially while gas is cheap.

Yes. I got the Toyos MT 255, stock gears, auto trans. Using a very accurate GPS, 69mph @ 1,900 rpm.

    Dropped into 4th gear, 65mph @ 2,500rpm

    Thanks.

Good writeup on your experience. I'm probably going to get gears and will probably do 4.56 but will wait till next year.
