TL retrofit

so i decided to do quick retro since once i did before took a lot of time (due to small size headlights on accord) and i didnt want to spend all winter doing them.
so i used TL bixenon projectors and ZKW-R purple lens. some spacing to get some color on cutoff
so here are results. took about 2 hours so far for all this

using E46 shrouds. works great
progress so far. leveling is good. yesterday i got quickweld and fixed projector in the bowl. tried painting shroud glossy black but paint is not working so i painted flat black like the reflector bowl or the headlight

 

one is done. just have to put it back in. working on second. cant wait to have them on

need to do wiring now and seal headlights

 

unfortunately my dumb ass didnt know solenoids were polarity sensitive (you would figure its a magnet coil. who cares which way electrons flow. i guess it matters in some. so high beam is not working. have to find new solenoids

Haven't seen a TL projector on a tacoma. Looks good! I can tell it's not your first retrofit

 

I had S2000 projects retro'd on my Accord, Honda/Acura projectors have the sharpest cut off lines and widest spread of lights.

 

You can't go wrong with s2k projectors. I would love it on the tacoma but no bixenon. One, if not, the widest cutoff! I know TRS' new mini h1 is suppose to be even wider

 

not first. but first that i actualy finished and is actualy on the car. other once took years and never finished becouse i tried to do too much (LS430 and TL in accord headlights and so on). thats why i decided to just do simple one this time

 

tehnicaly you can put them in and put some kinda small high beam projectors in turn signal area but then you need to make new turn signals somewhere else (maybe even those pod amber lights and put them in grill. it doesnt have to be in headlight. some cars have them in other places now so im sure it would be legal if you can dim them for running lights (PWM maybe)

 

I rather have bixenon function. Now Andrew did put ls430 in his and had a light bar for his high beams. I don't know even a matchbox projector would fit in the turn signal area for a tacoma. Be pretty cool though. As for turn signals, you can put an amber led (demon eye effect) and tap it into your turn signals!

 

or that outside marker light can be wired to function only as turn. maybe put brighter bulb in there. plus mirrors have turn signals

 

I may or may not be doing another retro. I want to learn how to mount projectors using nuts and bolts. Any tips?

 

I mount bolts on projectors and then aim them, mark where holes need to be based where bolt touches reflector, u can make holes bigger so u can adjust final rotation, then once everything is good, jbweld bolts to reflectors where they go through
