You say you got yours in Arkansas. I live in Arkansas and was wondering what kind of tech. package you got in your TRD OR? Also if you dont mind how much did you get your truck for? I want a similar set up.

Here's a sr I spotted today, it had the 2.7 in it. I didn't waste there time test driving it as I would never own a 2.7 crew cab 4x2. Like most have said the grille isn't an issue in person, looked good on this sr. The issue I had with the front end is how they executed the lower bumper, that sticks out much for my liking. Tailgate was nice and need did seem deeper then my 12'. Interior was nice, not a fan of the patterns in the seats as I feel that will become dated more quickly then a plainer pattern like the 2nd gens have. Other then that the truck is very much the same, I won't be running out to trade mine in.

Test drove the Access Cab Sport this past weekend at Koons of Annapolis. I don't have a 2nd gen or any truck right now. I drove a 2nd gen quite a bit at work the last few years and I'll say I like the new 2016 better. Nicer interior, quieter. Seats still unsupportive of longer legs, but that was my complaint with the 2nd gen too.
I was ready to sit down and order one and there was confusion on how to go about it. Lack of interest by the manager. I ended up on the toyota website with the sales guy. None of the combinations I wanted were coming up, or it was not possible. Later I researched on my own and found the website really just finds a truck in the works for the geographic area. So, I will eventually order one exactly how I want it, or I'll email/call around till I find it. They also told me it would be MSRP with no discounts or financing incentive.

Guessing it was a MGM Access Sport? I test drove that truck last week. I am a shorter guy so seat felt fine.

I just ordered a truck from Koons Annapoilis. I had a very specific truck and went in telling them what I wanted. The girl in Inventory was actually very helpful and searched around for a truck that meet my specs. She is actually swapping an allocation with all my options with a dealer in NY that is in my 2nd choice color. Build date is 11/16, so she said it would be fairly easy to do a color change (waiting on color change approval before I put down deposit).

I did actually have to walk into managers office and walk them through what model and packages I wanted, and provide them with codes and such. I wanted a TRD sport 4x4 DCSB M/T with tech package and they couldnt find it in computer, pulled up Tacoma product info on my phone and walked them through it.

They actually tried to allocated me a TRD sport Double cab LONG BED w/ M/T which I didn't think was possible combination...

I dont mind dealing with shady dealers as long as I can stick them on the price. Most dealers in my area dont offer the free oil changes for life and usually you end up paying for that one way or another. That being sad, I bought my 2014 for 29 and some change before taxes and all. Found out I can trade it in for somewhere in the 28 range and get a tax credit as well on the new one. Used TrueCar through my credit union and the process was simple....not the same for the 2016. I have called countless dealerships and most will not honor their TrueCar prices. Found 2 that will, Toyota of Bowie and Lustine Toyota in Woodbridge. Lustine Toyota was $1,000 cheaper so I went with them. $35,816 + dealer processing fee ($599 blah) for DCLB TRD Sport 4x4 MGM with Tow and Premium/Tech package. They put in a request to Toyota for one being built on 10/10 to change to my specs and it was approved. Also told me they would honor the military rebate on top of the TrueCar price, should be around $35,400 plus the leftover taxes from the trade.

End result, some people say they were shady, but I plan to force them to stick to the pricing as it is laid out and they were willing to get me the exact truck I want. Thats a win in my books, as long as they offer me what my trade is really worth.

Koons in Annapolis has a MGM TRD Sport access can 4x4 v6 in stock. Noticed that the double cab appears to be the only one that has a bed light. Also there's mysteriously a heated mirror button that isn't even listed in the manual. Truck drives nice, super responsive at any speed with ect mode on and way quiet inside. Most places seem to want sticker or above. Still a chosen few that will cut a deal, may have to deal with bad sales people but if the price is right that's about all that matters. I've never been loyal to a dealership anyhow. Once free oil changes are up I do it all myself

They'll have a couple Off Roads and Sports on the lot next week.

I called Miller in Manassas. Worst dealer I have ever dealt with. Salesman wouldn't even give me a price for MSRP over the phone. Stated he couldn't bc he didn't know thier cost and they didn't have any on the lot. Was extremely rude. Sales manager was the same.

Oursman in chantilly was decent. Offered me 33997 before taxes and fees. On a 35k truck with the options I wanted. I pulled out all the cards. Holdback, invoice cost, they wouldn't budge after 4 hours.

Gonna keep checking around. I told them I need to be at 33 out the door for a TRD OR double cab with tow package. They wouldn't even go to 34 out the door. I already have a loan. Whipped out the blank bank check and they still didn't budge. So, that's where I'm at.

    I wasn't being unreasonable was I?

Try Lustine in Woodbridge, they seemed reasonable. Ask for Jeramy Routh, if they keep getting referrals I'm sure they'll hook you guys up. Mine was $2,400 under MSRP

Can't speak for out the door because in MD taxes alone are 2k on that much truck. But here's an idea of what you should be at. Doesn't include the dealer charge or fees but includes freight. Has the tow package and all weather floor mats

Auto Nation toyota in leesburg told me they are selling for MSRP.

Rosner Toyota in Fredericksburg told me. "It has an MSRP OF: $35,579. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your business at $34,134.27 plus applicable fees (title, tax, tags, processing)"
