Yeah I am all about self help first and then turn to others after researching. So, since you understand all of the ins and outs of lifting, reading though those threads may make a lot of sense to you. Not to me. Especially when people are talking about modifications/lifts for serious off roading vs just light off road and mostly street use like myself. So, for anyone else who may also be reading this. I am looking for about a 2 1/2 inch lift for very light off roading. I do not want to spend too much but also don't want just a cheap $150 kit either.

Just add the Bilstein 5100s they will do perfect for you. Thats what Toyota uses on the TRD Pro except the pros have rear reservoirs. They are cheap and good. :) Im just a dealer though lol.

Not to those who actually use their trucks. I need my 4WD at least 3 or 4 times a week.

Just from my experience. (I have a 13')but I have the 5100's @1.75 and I have no complaints, rides better, a little stiffer. Less body roll. But way smoother IMO. Just for reference

So you have the adjustable 5100's front and back with no other hardware?

If you want to spend a moderate amount for a great quality product go a full Old Man Emu set up. For just over 1,000 you can have new coils, front shock, new rear leafs, rear shocks, and all the misc. It should yield you a 2-2.5 inch lift. This set up is well regarded among most. It's not a desert racing ICON stage 5, and its definitely not a crappy 150 spacer and rear block set up. However this kit will look good on your truck and has worked well for me with thousands of miles of jeep trail off-roading. OME kit can be easily installed yourself with jack stands, floor jack, and a modest set of Metric tools. Check out this TW sponsor: Wheeler's Offroad. They actually have these kits on sale right now.

Ome vs bilstein shocks? Bilstein wins out?

I have a couple people I know personally saying different things

Only the fronts are adjustable. But yes stock springs. I added a 1 inch block to the back just to keep a little bit of rake. I got about 2 inches somehow out of the front and it sat too level. So that's when I purchased the block. My truck may be lighter though. (13' a/c)

OME. Full disclosure I have not rode in a truck with 5100s. I just know that the ride with my OME is good and I like that it is one manufacturer for Springs and shocks at all 4 corners.

It's done and it looks sooooooo oooooo good! Off at alignment now so I'll get some pics once I get her back and all cleaned up. One thing to note, if you're changing your UCA's, you will have to cut the bolt on the passenger side. The new inner fender covers too much of the bolt, and even if you bend said inner fender, you will not have enough room to get the bolt out.
