I still like a strip on the windshield. My tint buddy is all about doing the whole windshield. Guess that is the thing to do now but I'm getting too old and afraid I wouldn't be able to see anything at night...

I have a 5% strip along with 15 on my front two and 5 over factory on my back 3 and love it during the day. Hate the back ones when trying to parallel park at night. But I'm 6'0 and the strip is amazing. Blocks the sun perfectly 90% of the time.

I have 20% all around on my Access Cab with a strip and I am happy with it. My tint guy says he does a lot of 50% whole windshields for people and he/they love it.

Yes, the tint strip along the top should stay in the nineties. Tinting the whole front windshield is the "in" thing right now. Although it is barely noticeable I am on the fence.

Tinting the whole windshield is highly illegal and will not pass any inspections.

I have a few tint questions... What is the factory percentage on the rear windows? What seems to be the norm for doing the front door windows? Is it easy to match the rear tint, or would all windows have to be done to get a good look? And lastly, I know it would vary, but what should I expect to pay for a good tint job?

I get the entire windshield done in all my cars. Makes a huge difference in the summer! I do my side windows at 5% and windshield at 50% and I don't have any issues seeing at night. I do like the fact that no one can see in! :spy:

Factory rears are 28%, and there really isn't a norm. Just however dark you want them. And I paid $280 for mine. That included removing the old tint from po, the best tint that the shop had on hand with 15% on my front two, 5% on my back 3 (over the factory privacy glass) and a 5% strip on my windshield

About 20 years ago the tint laws in the state of Kentucky were: 6" max front strip, 35% on front 2 doors, 20% on rear doors, and 5% on rear window. I'm sure it varies by state and not even sure if it is the same now in KY.

The idea of tinting the entire windshield seems ludicrous to me.

In a few years when it's time for safety and emissions. Also if you get in a car wreck it's automatic impound for your car.

safety and emissions? none of that here. and they don't impound cars unless serious illegal activity was involved.
