If you want that bumper to appear small do some fab work and mount a 2016 grill in place of stock grill and bumper will look tiny !! jk man, looks damn good and like others have said, goes great with the bed.

I'd mount your license plate on the front or a winch... The license plate and fair lead will break up the space on that bumper. Paint will help too.

I'd bet a round tubing light guard tube (instead of your square tube) would help as well.

    But I like it.

I've looked at that pic a few times now... Each time, I like it more. I think it looks baddass with the rest of your truck. You may have just had a happy accident by the design not coming out exactly as you envisioned. IF you start to like it, of course.

It has grown on me a lot, I just painted it yesterday but sadly haven't seen it outside yet because I decided to do the front half of my frame as well. So waiting on that to dry at the moment.

I was gonna say the same thing. Just needs something to break up the large area in the middle.

Also lose the hoop or have one bent not square stock.

So you've decided to keep it as is or just live with it for awhile and see how it goes? If you decide to put a winch in there you're gonna have to remove and beef up the backside for it anyway. Lots can be done at that point.

You could cut holes in it to open it up some. Mount some lights in the holes.....I like it. Gives it the "Urban Assault" look!

So spent the entire weekend painting the bumper, the steel mesh around the bed, and one half of the frame. I'm covered in por15, and there's a massive run in the bumper from my top coat that I'm gonna have to fix. But oh well. Here's how it sits now.

I like the look. Old school winch bumper you'd expect to see on a domestic 1 ton.

Does that bumper block much headlight beam in front of your truck? Looks like you'd need to add fog lights just to see the road 25 feet in front of you.

Man, that looks pretty darn good! You almost have it looking like it'd be ready for Mad Max.

I actually just had to go out and test this, I hadn't yet. If anything the range is better because the light is bouncing off the gloss lol.

That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Honestly glad someone else thought the same. It's grown on me a lot. But still a little big.

For now I think I'm gonna leave it. The way it's mounted I could just throw a winch in it now and it'd be fine. The D hoops aren't actually attached the bumper as it is, they're attached to a piece of thick tube steel behind it. And there's another one I could use for a winch if need be. Ill probably just end up putting some lights on it and drilling some holes.

Did you paint the inside of the new bumper so it doesn't corrode from the inside out? I mean off the truck painting.........

    I still like it!

Why did you decide on that bed type? Have a failed or wrecked OE bed? Or do you haul something that this style is more appropriate for?
