Good advice. I'l see how the ones I ordered fit. Any idea what the travel length of the stock shocks are? Looks like the ones I ordered say 46mm monotube shock

Toytec sales 1/2" spacers with new axle pin. Can use one for taco lean or 2 for 1/2" lift.

Mine started settling immediately just bouncing the suspension, the shortest end go's to the front and the longer end to the rear. Also depends how much sag you had to begin with. I am sitting higher than I was but I was riding on the overload before.
Don't feel bad, I'm kicking myself in the ass also, may call about an add a leaf, there site says they make one for a Tundra but not sure if it will fit the Tacoma packs.

Just a bit of clarification Bilstein has the "5100" series (still do i assume) & in that series theres the 5100 ride height adjustable front shock(or strut) & for the rear they offer the 5125 (which is non adjustable in the traditional sense) BUT you can order the 5125's in custom lengths for trucks with lifts...

I just got rear 5100's that don't have custom lengths. But it still has plenty of length. I also have the ride height adjustable 5100's in the front. But I also only added a 1.5" AAL and they suggested the 5100 instead of leaving stock. But unless you are gonna be going hardcore you don't need anything but 5100's

If you want a lot of clunking from the rear anytime the body flexes you should get the Dorman replacement set I have. That way you can crawl under the truck every weekend and spray them down with lubricant just to get you a week of peace and quiet. 2000 PreRunner.

Update. My KC springs settled a little more than an inch after 16k miles. I put 1" blocks from Toytec under them and it leveled the truck out. I may have a 1/4" rake which I like.

+1 more for the general hd . Just got back from hunting. 600 miles fully loaded including 7 gal water, d8 battery, canopy and rock box and refer in back. No problems.
But I still hate the bilstiens !!! Don't get the ones made for the tacoma. You would be better off with anything else.

thanks for the input on the springs. Any reason you don't care for the Bilsteins? I was planning on ordering front and rear 5100's.

My understanding is that 5100s will deal with a mild lift but that 5125s will deal with higher lift. Dunno how any of that's defined or if the two shocks ride differently from each other from a given "lift".

keaker above has Gabriel shocks with his General HD springs in the back and likes it.

The bilstiens for the taco as are valved to soft. I get a little bounce with new springs. For the tacoma they are valved in the USA not bilstien. the 4runner fronts fit and seem to be valved better. I just helped a friend do his wife's 4runner. A lot less body roll after the new bilstiens. The tundra ones also fit. I think I'm going to order the tundra ones for mine.

Which years 4Runner? Which years Tundra? OEM replacements or aftermarkets made for 4Runner or Tundra?

4runner 96-2001 tundra 2000-2005. The 99 4runner springs will give you a level ride with the HD's . I have the moog 81088. I think they are the same spek as the tundra.

He ordered after market bilstiens from shox dot com( I think?)

Trying to parse all this. These OEM-spec 4Runner and Tundra front coils would be stock height on those vehicles, but what height on the 1st Gen Taco? And do we know their spring rates?

Edit: RockAuto and Carid.com are both showing the Moog 81088 is 595 lbs/sq in. Seems quite a bit more stout than OEM Tacoma front coils, like if I had a winch and heavier bumper I'd be cool with those?

Let's assume I don't keep my stock coils and don't care to lift via the spring perch of the 5100. So, maybe a little stiffer and no more than about an inch taller ... that seems to describe the OME 880 (500 lbs/sq in.) and either the 4600 or the 5100 on its bottom perch, yes? Where would a 4Runner or Tundra "OEM spec" spring compare here?

Yep, Ok, 1st gen. coils are progressive (not a real selling point) & pretty shitty really, basically every aftermarket coil that give rate & lift advise not preloading by way of raising clip, this i can attest to when I bumped my clip up 1 groove & the amount of compression it took to re assemble was crazy & the ride really went to shit, but yeah let the coil do the work of lifting on bottom setting of 5100's & not sure what the coil rating is on either 4runner or Tundra but dimentionally the coil will fit the perch on strut & strut bucket, the biggest dfference between the 5100's for 1st gens & the 5100's for 1st gen Tundras is that the Tundra 5100's have 5 settings instead of 3..
