It's the same in the automotive world. Auto engineers are still problem solvers. If the solutions aren't to the liking of the bean counters, the scientist had better come up with another one for their own survival ( or keeping a job)

What a crock.

I'm all for a clean environment. But to claim people died directly because of this VW emissions is way out there in the weeds.

Same way a statistical analysis predicts how many people will likely die from lung cancer based on smoking rates

Global temperature rise / man made climate change has a 97% acceptance among scientists in peer reviewed papers but you will never believe that anymore than there is " proof " of the theory of evolution
